Ronald Koeman discussion

Most say that now mate, but if we dont get top 7/8 there will be questions being asked. If he's spent big in the summer/January window then it'll be fully deserved. If he hasn't then it'll be harsh.

But dont rule out a lot of people turning on Koeman very early. There were loads on here and other forums who didn't want him and wanted someone like FDB. It wont take them too long to remind everyone of that fact neither.

I can see that happening if the performances are shabby. Very early days but the Spurs game was ok as a start...I think most fans just want to see appreciable progression so this season Ron will be allowed a reset to start from.

I seem to remember Dave about RM. If his period came to grief you would acknowledge he was not good enough as a manger of our club, not heard anything on those lines from you. In fact you kept on muttering about the first season and two cup semis inthe last season but avoided talk of the crap performance in the PL in the last two seasons.

So how about giving RK the same sort of lee way?
RK has my full backing. That's what you do with a new manager. That's what reasonable people do anyway.

Analyse and critique in his first season here if need be, but dont ever call for the man's head if he's struggling.

...if he isn';t allowed to spend money over and above what comes in and we're midtable there are people who want give a flying one about that and blame him rather than the owners. That's just the way it is unfortunately.

Cheers Dave. I have a feeling RK will be good for our club and restore the ethic that characterised the 80s. Tall order I know but I have faith.

Let's hope so. For the moment he has one point on the board. Let's see how or if he makes it to the record books.

If they were both off the record and being totally honest then both Moshiri and Koeman know that Koeman being head coach is likely to be a stepping stone for both parties.

Most people would accept that Koeman, at the moment, is a good, but not a great manager.

If Koeman makes us competitive again, then he'll have that on his CV and can use it to get his foot in the door of a big European club ( and yes, we should be looked on as a big European club, but we're not ). If he does, then we have a platform to build on and won't be struggling to attract an equal or better replacement in three or four years time.

Ideally, I'd like him to make us competitive, get bitten by the Everton bug and stick around to finish the job off, but realistically he'll be dreaming of Barca or similar.

With waht you have posted Woolly, could we not become the "similar"?

Lol, you think the last four weren't worth the cash paid? Wow.
Said it before, I'll say it again, I'm not an accountant, transfer fees are relevant to me when I can take the piss out of the RS nothing more, that list is a list of players not good enough for Everton, Hense Koeman targeting/purchasing players who play in their positions, such as Gueye for Besic (who barely got a chance under Roberto) Bolasie for Cleverley (well that's where Martinez played him) two CB's targeted Williams and 1 other, which suggest to me Mori will be the fall guy. Lennon doesn't offer enough productivity that's why Potchetino completely froze him out at Spurs. That's my genuine reasons anyway.

Honestly think most blues are clued-up enough to direct their ire Mosh's way. As I said earlier if the performances are shabby then Ron'll get it, but if we see that results aren't going our way because of lack-of-quality/squad-numbers rather than lack-of-effort/organisation then Koeman will get some leeway. Signs are good that effort & organisation are among his plus-points.

Still, there are reasons why Koeman hasn't always impressed in his previous jobs...here's hoping that was all a learning process on his way to the Premier League.

Gueye wasnt Besics replacement, he was McCarthys.

Do you remember Niasse, McGeady, Kone, Alcaraz, Robles, Lennon, Mori and Besic? 1 swallow don't make a summer my friend. He was a disaster, like Koeman said 'I've got a squad full of right wingers and left backs'

Youre a very mean man who hates a very nice man.

Well that didn't work did it? They pummelled us in the last 30 minutes.

Maybe the psychology worked the other way and made our lot feel like they had permission to flag in the latter part of the game.

TBH though I think the we just got over run by a better outfit in the end.
We pummeled them the first 60. So we're on the up
