Ronald Koeman discussion

How many wins is he away from 21 wins?

How many PL wins last season under your master? 10.

How many in 2014-2015? 11.

There you go 21 PL wins in 2 seasons combined.

Won 5 at home all season before D day. Can you still recalled? You have only memory 3 seasons ago other than that, it wiped out from your brain. You are like those characters in MIB. Light flashes and you forgot everything happened from 2014 summer onwards.

Koeman onwards and upwards.

That's a great post. I do think there are those gradations you highlight.

Mind you, I do keep on coming back to the Lukaku factor. For my money he is the difference this season. Just as his goals got us out of the brown stuff last season (though they dried up toward the end), so are his goals this season the difference between a team mid-table and one knocking on the door of a EL place.

If we lose this feller we will struggle badly next season.

Lukaku got to another level under the training of Koeman.

Didn't we draw like 4-4 or 3-3 with them last year 94 min equaliser, also remember Chelsea's 907th minute 25 yard off side goal by terry for 3-3

2-0 up then lost 2-3 at home against West Ham. Never ever forget that. Absolutely madness tactics when we were a man down and the politician put Niasse on.

Barkley had his best season last season.

Btw, what was the valid reason for treating Niasse like an animal?

I'm one of, if not the biggest Barkley defender on here but he's better now than last. Statistically, last season maybe Dave but he is so much better, as an all round player, at this point in this season. We haven't even hit March and he's just so much better than last season.

Why? Well, it's simple. Actual coaching and the realisation that his place was under threat. As a few of us predicted, Koeman is the boss to get the best out of him - he's simply demanding that Ross does more while taking the pressure off him through Davies, Mirallas, Lookman and now even Schneiderlin, that is allowing him to play at his instinctive best.

He's getting there Dave, let's not use him as a weapon to debate the current and previous regimes.

Enjoy Roscoe.

It took RK 5 months to drop the Stek and Jags and play Robles, Davies and Holgate. Too long for me but he did it.

It took RM nearly three years to drop Tim Howard.

It reminded me of that old Groucho Marx line: " Are you going to believe your own eyes or me?".

First it was that the style of plan for Koeman's Southampton teams was bad. Never mind that they finished better than Everton under Martinez.

Second it was Koeman will stick to his 5 man back line, he won't take any chances, and we won't score enough goals. Think that was dispelled pretty quickly today.

Third it was that we've only picked up 3 points against Bournemouth this year, as they were better last year. Granted they finished 16th and are currently above that, but hey, never mind those facts things.

Fourth, it was that he's a bad guy because he's treating players like animals. Telling a guy he isn't in the full time plans = treating him like an animal.

Fifth it was that he's spent $70+ million and gotten nothing. Granted, the next spend was more like $20M, and we've gotten Gana, Lookman, Morgan, Ashley Williams, Valencia, all looked like decent business. Bolaisse I disagree was an overpay, but it's tough to say as he's hurt.

Regardless, I'm just waiting for the next narrative to begin.

The team is much improved and Martinez has us going in the wrong direction. Koeman is doing a great job.

Last season he scored 8 and 8 assists, hes currently sitting on 4 and 5, with 14 to go and hes utterly flying.

He will beat last seasons "stats".

I'll just leave this here.

Haven seen a previously woeful Hull get 4 pts from games against Man U and them lot and reading a decent article on him on the Guardian or somewhere like that, I would like to make an early shout for Marco Silva as our new boss when we get bored of Ronnie.

I'd like to thank Ronnie in advance for two seasons of stability, 7th place finishes, the introduction of a flurry of Finch Farm fledglings and a strong Europa League run. Gracias.
