Ronald Koeman discussion

Feel he is getting things done.

Been said already I expect, but making the squad better by binning about 9 players and signing 2 (?) in Jan seems a decent result.

Played some cracking footy recently as well, but that 20 odd minutes in the 2nd half on Saturday needs sorting right out.

With the squad now, we are a bit on a wing a prayer re Rom being busted, and yeah,I know that sort of contradicts ^^, but feels ok.

Decent little run, see how it looks mid March.

Will look very very good mate, this seasons gonna come down to the visit to the pit and old Trafford in back to back games. A real test to see if koemans cull has changed the mentality on the pitch.

Can guarantee that neither of Davies, Lookman or Schneiderlin will be going into those games with any inferiority complex that's for sure.

You make a good point there. How do we change that mentality on the pitch in the massive games? We've seen how we brushed aside city who had the likes of Toure, de bruyne, aguero and silva class players but also winners. If we go head to head with united and the RS all the pressure will be on them. They are part of the 'sky 4' and their owners and suppporters demand they reach the top 4. I'm not suggesting our owners don't have that weight of expectation, but I've no doubt going into those games the pressure will be on United and the RS, even more so being at home. I just hope we go into those games with a fearless attitude. Rom in the form of his life and as you said the 3 players you've mentioned wouldn't bat an eyelid playing against such opposition.

Also koeman bangs on about competition for places, bar Kone, all the squad now that they are in the managers plans (jags and Lennon possibly only to the summer). The battle for midfield spots is as intense as any period in the last 20 years and you just know that anyone who drops their high standards they have a talented player waiting in the wings, also with basic to add even more competition. If only we had that level of competition all over the pitch. I hoping that after this summer we will.

We are very fortunate at the moment. If I can say it how I feel it;

We have Schneiderlin the young Zidane or Pirlo if you will

Lookman the young Maradona

Barkley the young Kaka

Lukaku the young Anichebe

Holgate the young Koeman

All in all this is very excellent and I am happy, if a little disconcerted as I am currently away for work and staying in an excellent hotel, albeit the lady next door seems to be replaying all six of our goals from the weekend and enjoying them over and over
Well if I was involved she might enjoy his third but would be on the balcony with a tab in her gob for the fourth

Confidence and momentum is infectious mate, the young lads have seen it go right through the team now, and the team spirit seems higher than I can remember, the bonus of a trimmed down squad. We can outwork both of them and when that happens both look distinctly average teams

Just going through my phone as got a new phone. Stumbled across an image my RS mate sent me when heads were falling off on here about Koeman...

It was a picture of this post...

besides Hull at home, at the moment I can't think of a single fixture home or away where I would be confident of us getting three points. We also now have a manager who can be aloof and distant. If he doesn't turn us around after the next round of inevitable defeats prior to Jan, I hate to say it but we could be in serious deanger of dropping down and out.
Deep down you all know this

Kev mate, has RK won your round now?

I'm afraid there is if wont sign a new contract by the summer.

But if we have the all the monies... can we then afford to let him play his contract in to final year?

Back to RonK and the season. Disagree that the season will be defined at the pit and vs. united. Would be satisfying to win but would take losing both and winning every other game. I'd take that right this gouda munchin minute.

tbf we were unbelievably **** at the time and I agreed with him, couldn't see a point coming, but most managers have a plan as to where they want the club to go and it normally takes a few transfer windows to get there.
We were really poor for a long period of this year though which is a shame because without that run we could of been on for something awesome this year because we look genuinely quality lately.

I think the media simply ride the flavor of the month band wagon. No doubt the big oligarch money and the media attention has built up these teams to a certain level of arrogance, where in they believe in their own propaganda. Creating a superiority complex, if you will. They not so much demand success, we all do that for our teams, no, these also seem to believe they are entitled to it. There's always lots more shock and horror when one of them slips (pun intended), compared to every other "lesser" team - unless it is a "fairytail" Leicester story.
The fact that we refer to these games as "massive" only pampers to this notion that these teams are "elite" and special. The mentality ought to be that every game is massive. Every opponent needs as much intensity, be they Sunderland or Man U. We should be scared of nobody and treat them all with equal disdain. In short, we need to be ruthless!
