Ronald Koeman discussion

They kept us at arms length all game nearly.

What's the point in denying we need more creativity up front? Will that do us any great service to offer an excuse rather than face up to the blindingly obvious fact that we need a playmaker?

We create enough, we're just overly reliant on Lukaku to finish chances off. Today he fluffed his lines, as did Lookman.

What I'm seeing is exactly what I hope to see on RAWK (when I lurk) after we win and they don't. It's also very comparable to what I see. Bed wetting wimps, spend half your time hammering Koeman and certain players and when they don't get the result people jump in like utter vultures.

It's almost as if some want us to fail to suit their own agenda

It was a tough away game against a physical side mate, come on. Every team in the league draws and even loses these games at times - Watford even beat Arsenal away last week.

We had more than enough chances to win it, both times with great balls through (Davies to Rom, Ross to Lookman).

It was our finishing that cost us the 3 points more than anything today. Gylfi wouldn't have changed the result.

The key thing is we didn't lose and there's still plenty of games left.

id say both you and Dave have fair points there.

Dont like the mixture we have up top at all. Shouldve been improved for me.

However we couldve gotten in a 100m superstar playmaker in summer or Jan and still have struggled in an away game to a tough defence in bad conditions.

Also it can't be denied we had chances to win it, but also can't deny they were falling to an unproven teenager when it would have been good to have had a more experienced attacking signing who might have been more clinical.

I think days like this hammer home just what a disservice those people who come along and post tosh about top 4 finishes do for others.

It's ridiculous to believe this team can get in there this season. They've done well of late and the unbeaten run continues, but we can't keep pace with the elite. Sixth place is still a possibility. But that's top whack for us this season.

The real test comes next season. Any top 6/7 finish this season has to be followed up with a top 5 season (or at the very least a tilt at top five that falls just short. This manager will have spent money again by then and the team will be in his image. Then we can make some pretty definitive conclusions.

But for heavens sake will people like @hktoffee stop pushing this CL BS in an effort to over egg the Koeman pudding. It isn't happening and then when a result and performance like this happens many are frustrated when they really should not be.

More convincing than you banging on the fraud Martinez of getting 2 semi final medals and 21 wins in 75 PL matches.

Don't just lie by saying give Koeman 1 1/2 year and stick the knife in everyday.

Two banks of 4 and 5 in front of this team and they haven't
Maybe because the ones we want aren't available, if we sign a he'll do for now player in January you end up with a squad full of deadwood.... Were still unbeaten this year.. We have come a long way in the last 7-8 months compared to last season. Stay calm were doing very well!!

We can't complain in all honesty we're back to being solid as a unit but the agonising from me is that we still haven't got the most important area sorted and I'm not having this "not available" lark, if one of the top 6 was in need of sorting that area out they wouldn't go two windows without bringing in decent players for that crucial area.

It's disappointing not to win and actually I take back that Gylfi wouldn't have made a difference because.. who knows?

But it's a game that could very easily have been lost and all in all I'm content with it.

On the flip side, Sunderland at home is a must win and anything less wouldn't be acceptable.

Not angry at all, the team I support has 18 from 24 going into back to back home games. Just looking for all the cry arses to back their POV's up. You mentioned West Ham. You can often in any season pick out an individual result, that's not enough to constitute a pattern.

You asked for teams that had created more chances, I gave you one, Not sure why you are flapping around like a crazed chimp
