Interesting this, results are poorer following his four months golf sojourns over the summer then when the winter comes (weather changes) he actually does some workKoeman demonstrates a shrewd footballing mind - he obviously works the opponent out well after sizing them up in a head-to-head situation. Last season he started with 24 from 19 but finished with 39 from 19 (2nd only to Leicester) in the reverse fixtures. He's on course to do it again with us (27 from 19 and now 20 from just 9). To see the improvement in our play, the consistency in players like Ross and the results in the past 2 and a bit months is very pleasing.

Was it the "on course" that gave it away?
This post is partly aimed at Dave who (if I recall correctly) previously questioned Koemans treatment of Ross and Niasse...
Has anyone noticed how (unless he really doesn't rate you - like with Niasse) Koemann manages to keep the squad feeling involved?
Firstly I've noticed he won't drop a player after one bad game but if the player has two or three bad games in a row (eg Jags, Holgate, Lookman) he will drop them.
The dropping is not for ever though and sooner or later they are given a chance to come back.
He is careful to make the youngsters feel involved still: Calvert-Lewin being brought back yesterday, I reckon Lookman will be back as a sub soon and probably Holgate too. I'm sure if there was a way to keep Stek involved without dropping Robles he would think of that too.
I think his man-management is absolutely brilliant. And his coaching ability not bad either...
Had his number from day 1. He relegated Wigan. Even Steve Bruce couldn't manage that.No no, I'm pretty sure me and @ianefc were against Martinez long before you arrived to bore us all with you memes and follow Dave around. Koeman's been the sort of manager we were hoping for I think

Small steps lads, lots of small steps.
And to think Martinez was a qualified physio...but ok we move on and we have. Not many 'muscle fatigue' injuries either eh.
Leicester could spoil the party still though.I had not realised that we are all but guaranteed to be in europe next season. Incredible now it seems a reality.
Koeman has finished in europein his first season at every one of his clubs now, fantastic achievement and we can see why he was hired, job done now for next season and we can hopefully push the teams above us and have a good finish to the season.
