Ronald Koeman discussion

He gets asked all the time about the Barcelona job. Would you rather be said it's a dream of his or would you rather he kept it to himself and said "no comment".

Love the man personally whether he's here just this season, all 3 or even longer. He's brought a stronger personality to the club and the players.

Another good presser then, always keeps it simple and clear.

What else is he going to say? Across the park they're going onwards and upwards, we're never even going to be the best team in the city let alone a powerhouse in this country. Europe? We are going to look rank amateur. The rest of the league is catching us up too, the likes of Stoke signing Shaqiri and us consistently losing our best players, as if Koeman is here for the long haul, us and Moyes were a match made in heaven. Two average entities punching above their weight every so often.

Nice to hear him say he won't leave before the end of his contract... although, correct me if I'm wrong, didn't he say something similar at Southampton not long before leaving them for us ?

Confirmed by the man himself - he is not leaving before his contract ends.

Reading his interview, it sounds to me as if this pain in the a'@{ contract with Everton is just something that he needs to see out until he moves on to better things.

Didn't he say he say hand on heart that he was staying at Southampton until we batted our eyelids at him with a load of cash ?

Get a grip lad fgs.

He said in the interview 'one day' he'd like to manage Barca. And that he has two dreams - one of which was the Barca job, and the other is to manage his country (which he turned down already, as he is at Everton).

But that he is at Everton and wants to focus on Everton.

IF, and it's a big if, Barca came in for him, then like any manager he'd clearly be interested. He'd be mad not to.

Pretty much everybody in football feels the same way. Its just a job these days.

FYI Koeman himself said he was more than happy to see out his final year of contract with Southampton, but they weren't to happy about him going in to his final year without an extension

I know what your saying but its going to need a manager who doesn't just see Everton as a stepping stone to bigger and better things to get
us in the top 4. We will need somebody who does not even contemplate answering questions about other clubs.

I like Koeman but take what he says about contracts with more than a pinch of salt.

He dumped Southampton for us and he'll dump us for something better.

No complaints if he makes us stronger in the meantime.
