The young players to come through

Unsy is doing a good job with our kids, helping them learn how to win, whilst getting valuable coaching experience for himself.

I hope there's a time when he's ready and fully equipped to become our manager, but let's not be silly. Last June was certainly not the time.

The defence and home form has greatly improved from last season. But the away form is even worse than last season and guile creativity and attacking play is an issue. At home there's no worries but Everton so far under Koeman are not very good travelers.

How about next June?

No width, aging centre halves and no creativity in midfield, just ball winners and as for the full backs not delivering any decent crosses it's no wonder we struggled to score, liked the look of Kenny when he came on got to be given a run out from the start against Watford and move Holgate to Centre half and drop Jags who looked ponderous yesterday

Koeman has got us exactly where we belong 7th. Lets not pretend we can match any of the teams above us because where worlds apart. We can't compete financially with them, and we can't attract the calibre of players they all can. Koeman is doing just fine.

Even though some of this is a mess of his own making (Stek, Valencia, sending out Del and Galloway on loan etc) he's done well to get this side to 7th in some ways, as it's not that great a team

He's got them at about the level they should be, and a lesser manager would maybe have them worse off

He got it wrong yesterday though, and our away form in general needs serious improvement

This summer window is so important. Get the players he wants in and remove the rest of the deadwood.
Then we can see where we are

When Everton lose a game.....
I love those overreactions. You can bet when we're losing you'll read here that Lukaku is gone, we don't deserve Barkley, Koeman is disgrace and Moshiri won't spend any money.

We are a weird bunch of lads.

Can't say sending out Del and Galloway on loan as a mistake. They were dropping off alarmingly. Galloway may come good and Del we know can be good but cannot last a full game in the PL and finds it too physical that all he did was dive and whinge and not produce. Koeman had a decision to make and didn't see them as part of his immediate plans.

Yes he won a league like Leicester did against the odds, if we are not careful we will lose him too!
