Ronald Koeman discussion

Anyone else think that Koeman will have quite a job to work out his best 11 and formation this season. I think last year when Bolasie got injured that kind of freed him up from having another luxury forward. If we do bag a few more players he will have to earn his corn in keeping the squad happy and putting out a balanced team.

Anyone know the dates that the first team are due back? And by dates I mean Pickford will be expected at FF much later than Barkley with Lukaku somewhere in between?

Fair shout this. I thought his biggest test came after the Watford game. We were hopeless, lifeless and clueless that day. The promising start had come well unstuck by then. The United game you mention was one of those were we looked comfy, keeper charging with rush of blood saw us behind when we'd done enough to more than hold our own. The draw was fair. But for me, it was the Arsenal game we came alive and hit a good run, but backed up with a mainly settled side.

Keeping players onside while rotating a squad isn't a characteristic I've seen of Koeman yet; he comes across as prickly and uncompromising to the media. Probably unfair as I don't know the man but in an extended season with Europa he's going to need a more subtle manner behind closed doors to keep 20+ professionals on top of there game.

Probably why he gets £6m pa for the challenge eh!

Listening to the guardian podcast earlier and they reckon the reason our deals are getting done so quickly is down to Koeman's agent. They described him as a very aggressive negotiator when it comes to transfer dealings and that Koeman wants him used at each. Lyn he's at. Not sure if it's true or when he started working on our transfers(given last years debacle) but it might explain the recent signings.

Ross Barkley is represented by the Wasserman group as his agents.

Ronald Koeman's agent is Rob Jansen:

Who works for Wasserman.

interesting times.

Not quite sure Ross is with that Agent.

Not that agent, but that group are who his agent works for:

https://www.sportindustry.biz/news/wasserman-expands-football-division

Wasserman Media Group has expanded their European Football practice with the acquisition of Dutch agency Sport-Promotion.

Founded and owned by Rob Jansen (Koeman's agent), the agency represents former players including Dennis Bergkamp, Patrick Kluivert and Marc Overmars, as well as current stars such as Dirk Kuyt, Leroy Fer, Daryl Janmaat, Marco van Ginkel and Daley Blind.

In addition to the UK and the Netherlands, the agency also has football management representatives in the US, France, Germany, Portugal and Spain.

The stars will join the likes of Ross Barkley, Steven Gerrard, Chris Smalling and Mesut Ozil in the Wasserman stable.

Paul Martin, EVP managing executive for global football at Wasserman, said of the new collaboration: ‘We are delighted to welcome Rob and his Sport Promotion team to Wasserman. As we have made clear in the past, the continued development of our European football practice is a priority for us and we firmly believe that this acquisition will enable us to go from strength to strength as we continue to grow our European presence.’

Casey Wasserman, chairman and CEO of Wasserman, added: ‘Rob and Sport-Promotion have grown an impressive business in the Netherlands and they represent a significant addition to our portfolio as we continue expansion in Europe. We welcome their team and roster and look forward to continued success together.’

Paul Martin is officially Ross Barkley's agent:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football...e-week-decide-wants-stay-everton-says-ronald/

Koeman called on the midfielder and his representative, Paul Martin, to decide if they will put pen to paper by the end of next week.

Mondial's existing client roster of Didier Drogba, Diafra Sakho, Arouna Koné, Pape Souaré, Bafetimbi Gomis, Idrissa Gana Gueye, Anthony Modeste, Marouane Chamakh and others will be added to Wasserman's existing soccer division, which includes Ross Barkley, Steven Gerrard, Jordan Henderson, John Stones, Daley Blind, Chris Smalling and Wilfried Bony.

Wasserman also becomes a bigger threat to some of its largest competitors like Creative Artists Agency (CAA) and Octagon . CAA led the list of most valuable sports agencies in 2015 with more than $6.4 billion in active player contracts and over $260 million in commissions.

"We are committed to developing our football business on both a European and Global scale and this acquisition is a major step forward for the company," said Paul Martin, EVP and Managing Executive for Global Football at Wasserman. Football, in this instance, is a reference to what Americans typically describe as soccer.

https://twitter.com/RobJansenWass - check out his tweets. confirmed as Koeman's agent in many reports and it's clear from his twitter he is that. He is founder of the company that are Ross Barkley's reps.

Pre-season starts July 3rd

Depending on how long England (or Spain) last in the U21s, Pickford, Holgate and hopefully Sandro will be back in the 2-3 weeks after that.

International players probably around the 10th.

Not quite sure Ross is with that Agent.

Further indisputable evidence:

Paul Martin (Wasserman Media Group)
US-based Wasserman is one of the most powerful sports agencies in the world. Their ever-expanding empire saw them buy the SFX management firm in 2006, ensuring their influence crossed over even more from NFL to football.

Past Blues clients have included Tim Cahill, Landon Donovan and Jack Rodwell.

Ross Barkley

Paul Martin is one of their top executives and guides the career of Ross Barkley .

Martin, who also represents John Stones, is low-profile but highly influential in the game

Paul Martin works for Wasserman, Wasserman (if not originally, but some facet of it) was founded by Koeman's agent Rob Jansen.
