No its called talking absolute cack.

You're thinking the team is a formula 1 car, when the reality is its still in the garages being fine tuned. Having had a new engine fitted.

Damo, stop chatting wham and telling me what I think about the team.

Whether this was this squad, Martinez' squad, or Moyes' squad it doesn't matter one bit, we should always be looking to capitalize on a man advantage.

We should never be a man up against a side and look like we were the team who had a player sent off as we struggle to get out of our own half against 10 men ffs.

But the other 13 are much more winnable, im not writing off the other 6 games, I just dont consider a draw away at City and a draw away at Swansea the same.
No, me neither. I go back to my original point though, we will drop points against teams below us - everybody does. You have to make up for that by getting points elsewhere. Look at Chelsea, they lost to Burnley at home but then go away to spurs and win. If we don't learn to win at least the odd one of those games we'll always struggle to compete.

To be fair playing against 10 away to City is nothing like playing 10 men at home to someone like Brighton. Also who was our extra man? Once they brought on an attacker to replace the sent off defender then it must have been DCL or Rooney who were starved of service as there was an equal game of football going on behind them. The extra man had no relevance on this game whatsoever.

Focal point Damo, DCL provided a very good 1 last night, now imagine if we had Sandro on the pitch, what a difference that would have made or imagine if Iceland was match fit, little things.

Precisement.

From someone who actually understands football.

It happens. Its all about circumstances. City have spent over a Billion pounds in the past 10 years.

Everton haven't had a pot to piss in.

Now however we've found the money tree and the distance is very rapidly closing.

But you think that the gap has closed after a month preseason!

Guarantee if Koeman had brought on someone like Lookman, he would have been slated for leaving space in the midfield.

Nobody is saying a 10 man City is the same as a 10 man Brighton.

I'm saying that I'm seriously troubled by people claiming we cannot attempt to take the game to a team that's a man down without putting ourselves at risk. I firmly believe we should be good enough to beat any team at 10 men with a goal in hand over 45 minutes, I don't think it is wrong to believe that and it makes me seriously question people who want to think otherwise.

The extra man had no relevance on this game because we didn't make it relevant, and that's a big disappointment.

You're implying it.

I thought it was very brave the way he changed it formation wise because as soon as Williams went off they targeted Jagielka one on one so many times ( he actually done terrific on the majority of them ).

We just didn't take care of the ball when we had it 2nd half which was disappointing but they looked bloody rapid I've got to say and that makes me feel like it was a decent point in the end with plenty of positives.

Damo,

While we haven't spent the Billions they have we were still a goal and a man up and failed to make it count. We managed a draw against them last year at their gaff and I'm fairly sure they still had 11 players at the end of that.

Will you stop telling me what I think and let me tell you instead? It is really starting to get on my tits.

When did I say anything about us closing the gap to City or being on their level? I never so you can stop putting up strawman arguments I didn't make and assigning them to me.

I have been clear in my position that whether that be City, United, or Chelsea (I'm excluding the RS for obvious bottling reasons) we should be good "enough" to secure 3 points at the end of a match when we were a goal and a man up at half time. I don't see why you disagree with that.

I mean, if we don't stand a chance attacking a 10 man City then we shouldn't have any hope of getting a result from 11 of them. Some of you seem to have bought into Koeman's earlier comments about needing a miracle a bit too much if you ask me.

Thats flawed logic mate. It's like when people say 'we've got a game in hand but it's against Chelsea'. The game in hand isn't against anyone in particular, it's the idea that you have one more game in which to pick up points. The same with a man advantage, the extra man is whoever you want it to be, it's the idea that they shouldn't be able to stretch you and you should find it easier to keep hold of the ball as there should always be someone who isn't marked

No mate, I am not.

I'm talking about this one game, the City game, and what I think we should be capable of when we're a goal and a man up. Brighton doesn't come into it, it could be Chelsea or Utd and I'd still hope we would take the game to them and see it through for the 3 points.
