Odd that so many forum member just will not accept this.

If I am honest with you masc, most of the forum members you refer to are absolutely four square beside Koeman on this point.

Certainly I am.

Why buy a striker, or a player in any other position comes to that, if you feel he will not enhance the squad?

What we will not accept is why, that being the case, we went right ahead and sold our striker and him with two years left on his contract without first making sure that a striker whom did tick all our boxes was brought on board.

Right now that decision appears to have been bonkers.

Thing is who is to blame for that? Cant blame Moshiri or even worse Bill, its not there job to go out and find one, so who is to blame, Walsh? He should of been given one, i agree on that but since all the targets we went for openly we got I would imagine if the club went for a striker they would of got him, but did Koeman identify one? or rather his scouts/director of football, for me this is the problem.
The market!
The best way for Everton to 'play' the market is not just attract it with $.
If CFs see Everton doing well without a striker, then they'll come a knocking.

Or the buying of all the new players early doors was reliant on Rom being sold and then further players ( Barkley etc ) being sold to fund the new striker.

A gamble that backfired spectacularly

poor Ronald. He wanted to get a target man, but he didn't get one. Tbf, he only had three months to sort one.
You should have had a plan b then idiot. Eve n I could see persuading Giroud to leave Arsenal wouldn't be straightforward, but wh n he said no Ron was completely floored, a knockout blow. And then he spends th day before a v important game coulda wouldering.

He's clearly stated in his press conference that they had other options but the prices weren't worth it. Maybe do some research before chatting wham you clown.

Because there were so many bargains available before deadline day?
Who said anything about bargains? If he needed a target man for the way his team is set up to Play and he had three months to get one, don't then cry arse afterwards that you never got one. He's the manager on oodles of cash to set us up to win, not bemoan his ill fortune.

We spent £45m on someone who takes set pieces. Getting him in became almost obsessive and then we were left with the most glaring gap of all. Almost certainly meaning our top signing will also be less affective than he would have been with a target man. Absolute shambles it was. A massive error by Everton as we carry very little threat going into any games this season now, especially in the big games like today.

I thought we could win virtually any game at Goodison last year. Visitors knew we could beat them. I already think the opposite today against Spurs.

A catastrophic error in my opinion.
