Ronald Koeman discussion

I can't blame Koeman.

He built a castle on a swamp, with the expectations the foundations wouldn't be a swamp.

There's a talented team there that's missing key pieces to make it work. Today we were always getting battered - I am surprised that people are seem caught unawares by it.
I don't think anyone was caught unawares by us getting beat, more like how absolutely gash, impotent, and clueless we looked in the process. not a single shot on goal AT HOME

I am not mad about RKs Tough Love Regime

The only positives right now are the squad is better than 18 months ago

The football isn't good enough. Granted there are injuries but the lack of experienced target man is crazy. You lose Lukaku and the minimum you do is beg steal or borrow a 15-20 goal striker from any of the top 6 or so leagues.

He reminded me of Walter Smith today in his post match interview. I kept waiting for the word disappointed and there it was. I thought he was on the right lines last season, but, perhaps following the absolute incompetence of Bobby Brownshoes made him look better than he was.

The obsession with signing central midfielders is puzzling, especially when, with exception of goalkeeper, we are woefully short in all other departments. Still, ok this is football. I don't think we are in any danger, but, I will be surprised if we finish as high as 7th this season.

On the bright side, we have a lot of new players and perhaps things will be better in a few weeks once they have gelled. Ashley Williams as a regular starter though?
Newcastle tomorrow may well sentence us to 16th on the table. Man U will put 7 or 8 in against us next week. We are in very grave danger now.
What a disaster this season has been

He shares in the responsibility. Walsh Koeman and especially Moshiri all culpable.

The Martina signing is 100% on RK tho. The only reason Martina is being "hung out to dry" is because he's league 1 standard .

One has to ask - what was Kevin Mirallas doing on the bench today? Who was he covering for? Davies/
DCL came on for Sandro and Klaasen and DCL is the cover for Rooney? He wasn't covering DM so only AM or striker roles but he was not brought on when those guys were not delivering... That is a decision I cannot understand

He's completely indifferent to Everton FC, and it's rubbed off on the players, schneiderlin didn't break a sweat today - he just watched as Kane ran away from him for the third.

Very perceptive comment.

That had not occurred to me.

I have said many times that he does not appear to care but I never thought of it rubbing off on the players.

And why wouldn't it?

Anyone whom has ever worked under an unmotivated boss knows there is a couldn't care less attitude seeps into his underlings.

That could explain the lacklustre performances so early in the season.

I have been one of Koeman's biggest fans, but I can't even attempt to defend that gash today. He's had plenty of money to plug a few holes and has failed to do so - Director of Football or not. We're so painfully defensive, yet not even defending well in games.

Going into the summer window I thought we were at least 5 first teamers short of challenging the top 6. It's now September and I think we're still 5 first team players short.

I was pondering similar Charles, which effected likewise discombobulation. Koeman appears to have a haphazard, patternless approach to selection; were he an artist, he'd be an acolyte of Jackson Pollock.
