Ronald Koeman discussion

Seen a lot of 'should Koeman go' stuff on the internet in general.

No he shouldn't go. Beat Stoke, did well against Man City, beat by Chelsea which was almost inevitable, and a crap day yesterday.

Come on, have you seen the start we were handed? Then factor in EL, which has gone well.

Yes we should've got another CF in, but is that solely down to Koeman? Almost as if managers have to jump through weekly hoops these days.
It's the manner in which we have played that is most disappointing. Yesterday was not a lot different from the other seven games we have played in that we don't have a clear formation or tactics and Koeman's stubbornness in insisting on playing people who are either rubbish or woefully out of form compounds this error.
Yesterday, ten of the starting eleven were Koeman's buys. No hiding place there.

I keep on seeing 'in the last 2 matches'. We HARDLY looked convincing against Stoke and were abysmal for the entirety of the second half against City. That's every single match this year. We had competitive matches before the season began yet still look like the entire team has no idea what it's trying to do.
You have a point there , haven't enjoy a game at all this season.

Think we'll look more balanced if we have one of Lookman, Vlasic or Bolasie on the pitch. DCL has to be first choice up front. I'm not sure that Sandro is cut out for playing up front on his own in this league.

They have a balance.

We don't, at the moment.

It'll come - if Koeman gets a grip of it and sees some sense.

Stop with all of the negativity, it's ridiculous.

We've had four tough league fixtures and four tricky EL ties.

We're through the EL ones and our first two league performances were solid if unspectacular.

We have been crap in the last two games against last season's top two, with the manager's tactics not helping us either.
I get what you're saying mate, and yes there needs to be some perspective, but I don't see how you can come on to the forum a matter of hours after we've been humiliated at home by a supposed competitor and complain that people are being negative.

Yes the start to the season has been tough, but when you count all games against the top 6 as virtually unwinnable, and factor in that much of the fanbase will always insist that stoke, Bournemouth, Leicester etc are 'tough places to go', there's only about 10 games that wouldn't be classed as tough by some fans.

The fact that we're trying to claim that homes games against the might of ruzomberok and hajduk split are 'tricky' kind of proves that point.

It's early days and we can improve, but make no mistake, we badly need to. Many more games like the last couple and the knives will really be out.

Not signing an out and out striker was scandalous whoever's fault that was, I look at the team and I don't know where the goals are coming from.
There are goals in the team if played correctly,
Rooney
Sigurdsson
Sandro
Even Mirallas
Klassen
DCL
All these can score goals but not shoehorned into a system that makes them all play out of position.

..I get the striker point and the need to score goals but it's not like we are missing a host of chances. I feel like a stuck record, but I want to see a team that possess a threat and creativity. The lack of chances is more of a concern for me, other than having more of a focal point I'm not sure Lukaku would've scored goals yesterday.
