Ronald Koeman discussion

I think koeman is playing a damage limitation strategy during our horrendous early fixtures , our defensive set up kind of proves this theory. Once we have Atlanta and United out the way, I think we will see a much more aggressive formation.

Can't blame him for trying to play defensive against the league's big guns. Even tho it has backfired to an extent.

Willing to give him the chance to prove my theory somewhat correct before lambasting him.

Hopefully it changes mate. He's a stubborn character but I still think he's a good manager.

Your more confident than me mate, had huge doubt initially, and tbf he won me over on most of those, whilst at the same time not exactly exciting me with the style or system, but this summer and this season so far it looks like a potential train wreck - no apparent plan, no apparent system that fits the player we just spunked 150m on, utterly confusing...

Understatement of the year

..I'm not comparing exactly but you are right. SAF won a European trophy at Aberdeen as well as the Championship before United came calling but he too took them backwards and was on the verge of the sack before things fell into place.

By the way, I'm not defending Koeman. I think we're dreadful to watch but I think he should be given time.
i realise you're not defending him and I'm usually in favour of giving managers more time. In fact with younger managers I believe it's important, it's just in this case I think we're flogging a dead horse.

How many points did people expect us to have after 4 games. I can safely say 4 was the general opinion by most including me.

So why all the bedwetting

A lot of our fans are turning Into deluded Kopites. We are the 7th best team in the land and we hope to go far in cups and Europe, sooner we all come to terms with it, the better.

Let me try and explain.

Dozens of people have commented on this but still people like your good self, in the absence of owt else to say, take it upon themselves to insult them as point this fact out.......it is not the paltry points total that people are "bedwetting" about.

It is the rudderless, toothless, passionless nature of the performances.

Only someone whom indeed had turned into a "deluded Kopite" would be happy with that and think it is swell.......nowt to worry about chaps, sure they are only those matches we have no chance of winning, so let's keep the score down at OT on Sunday and the season really starts against Bournemouth because that is our level....COYBB

But it's all good.....it'll be our year next season :celebrate:

That is the happy clappy way you and others are excusing these craven performances.

What is a genuine cause for "bedwetting" is the fact you seem to take pride in being among a group of people whom were writing off the City, Chelsea and Spurs games for a total of one point, maximum, before a ball was kicked.

Thankfully some of us still maintain enough pride in EFC to think we might have done a wee bit better in those games but even if we did not, at least the lads put up a fight.

;)

I think it was very clear from moshiri's diabolical interview on deadline day that he was setting koeman up for a fall.

It won't be at least until end of December but I can definitely see him gone this season. To be honest that would please me. I've hated his style of football from minute one. His horrendous tactical awareness. The fact we extremely rarely combine two halves of decent football. His continued public criticising of players. His inexplicable blindness to the noose around the team's neck that is Williams. The fact that in the 8 competitive games we have played thus far we have looked utterly abysmal, devoid of a system, shape, pace and power.

In short I'd rather someone else was in charge but it's far too early to bin him off. He has to be given the chance to rectify the failings in our recruitment. How much time? I don't see moshiri as a patient man and as I said, he definitely was placing it all at koeman's door in that interview.
Agreed - I believe without moshiri Kenwright might have been inclined to keep Martinez on. So it shows how ruthless he can be.

I was thinking that myself. Stevon lol
We are being set up overly defensive on purpose in the hope of gaining a couple extra points when we are not expecting to realistically get anything.

If koeman continues this overly defensive approach against Bournemouth and the like then I will start to question him.

Would burn my imaginary season ticket with stubbs mate. Utter scrote of a bloke, and that's from personal experience of seeing him out and about in pubs and clubs. Unsworth on the other hand shook my piss stained hand in flannigans and laughed it off. Rhino all the way.
Wasn't Purple Acky hounding Unsie at one time ? Do we really need him peeping over fence at Finch farm.
