why do they deserve to keep their places? defensive midfielders that dont protect the back 4

My position would be that when ran with those 3 last year we seemed dynamic, with Davies looking to get ahead of the forward players and creating space, Gueye chasing everything down andMorhs having more space to dictate play.

I hope he doesn't fall into the Martinez stubbornness of sticking with the 2 when it's clearly not working

Good assessment. Although not sure I would play all of Gueye, Schneiderlin and Davies in the midfield. I'd go with 2 of them and since Gueye is our best he would be in, and Davies should be given a chance from the start. Schneiderlin needs to be dropped for a few games.

I could live with that

If he wasn't Moshiri's beloved big name he would've been sacked by now. The problem is that without being able to sell anybody til January, we don't have the money to do it.

Maybe Moshiri is actually giving his manager a bit of time to get stuff right off the back of progress last season rather than knee jerking after a few bad results to good opposition most of which away from home.

It's worth remembering we're the only team to have even halted City let alone nearly beat them. There's been some good stuff in amongst the garbage. We need to reassess at the end of the season. Unless we go close to going down I can't see any rational argument for firing him.

If he plays 4-2-3-1, we need at least one of the players in the 3 behind to be a quick winger who is going to stay wide and give us that width and pace on the counter.

If he plays 4-3-3, the 3 up top need to be strikers and the width has to come from the full backs, so play Kenny.

If he plays 3-5-2/3-4-3, play Kenny, play Holgate and play Rooney as a striker and tell him to stick up top and not think he's Pirlo.

If we lose to United by 2/3 clear goals with another toothless performance,I think we'll find out a bit more about our new owner.

Ridiculous statement.

Why would he have been sacked?

We've lost three games in a row. Before that we'd played six games unbeaten, had 4/6 points in the league and had progressed into the European group stages.

He improved us from 11th to 7th last year so why would he have been sacked?

Is it just me who think Keane needs to up his game, a back 3 of Holgate Keane and Jags/Williams is poor in my opinion, I don't know if Funes Mori would fare any better but I think he may. Maybe loaning Pennington out was also a mistake, we look so weak at the back and the 2DM's just don't offer any protection. I don't know the whole thing is just a shambles.
