Ronald Koeman discussion

Mate, he took us from 11th to 7th in his first season, got us back into europe and made us pretty formidable at home again after the worst season at home in a very long time.

If last season filled you with dread and despair or anybody else for that matter, then I am afraid I cannot understand that one bit.

We moved up from 11th to 7th.

Big whoop.

And he dudn't "take us into Europe".....that was down to United beating Saints in the EFL Cup Final.

Jose was more responsible for us being in Europe than Koeman.

...the questions at those press conferences frustrate me. Why not ask;

You seem to change formations on a regular basis, when you were purchasing players in the summer what team model was it based on?

Teams who play with a back 3 usually employ offensive wing backs who attack the opposition back four and create. Do you use Holgate and Baines to protect CBs you feel need defensive support?

Your team is dreadful for supporters to watch. Why is there no width to get around the back of opposition defences and create, and also no width in defensive areas leaving so much space for teams to exploit?

You say you missed out on your prime striker targets, in hindsight did you wait too long to acquire the likes of Giroud; and was there a dependency to bring monies during the final days of the window?

Spot on. What is the point of having press conferences if journos don't ask the obvious questions that every supporter and everyone in football is probably asking.

..he'll want his own assistant in but it probably makes financial sense to keep Erwin. Much will depend on how long there is on contracts. Saying all of this, I'm not expecting Koeman to go just yet.

ronald on a 3 year contract, so could be alot worse if they are considering sacking

based on that, paying him off would be circa 10 mill i guess...nothing in comparison to transfer fees

LOL ok! if you insist, not going to argue such pointless debates like that.

Looks like you have made your mind up already. After 2 years of dross under Martinez we made progress, that is not really in any dispute.

Perhaps the player meeting this afternoon will clear the air.

If things need to be said, then get them said and into the open.

A roomful of millionaires should be able to talk openly and air their grievances and then get on with what they are paid handsomely to do, starting by showing some bloody effort.

These are footballers, they haven't invented the wheel mate. I would expect at least 50% of them have no idea of what is real, having such privileged lifestyles as they do.

It might not make sense tbh, as his contract isn't massive anyway.

And I believe (might be wrong here) it's not the same as the manager, as it could be settled or something like that. Might be talking out of my arse, but tbh I'd prefer if someone wants their backroom staff to have it, even if it means paying about 3mil.

The interim dream team.
