He's doing the right thing by Davies imo. He's taking the pressure off him while he's off form and we're in a rut. The more experienced players need to step up to get us out of the mess we're in.

To be fair Martinez took over a side who's only recognized strikers were a broken down Nikica Jelavic and Victor Anichebe.
Davies is quite capable of not being completely overawed. Pick our best side. The older players look disinterested gutless and quite frankly pretty rubbish. We need energy. I despise watching the ponderous one dimensional rubbish we've seen in last week.
And yet it was largely due to the emergence of an even less experienced Davies that we got out of the rut in the middle of last season.

Different situation, there was no pressure on him at that point and he was full of confidence. Bringing young players into this team won't do them any favours. Davies won't be able to stop us losing vs Manu.
I would say there was pressure enough on him.
We were in a terrible rut then.....one win in nearly three months or sommat.
