Looks like your typical Sales Team Clear the Air Meeting went as follows:

Boss: Right lads, who hasn't been pulling their weight..

Assistant Bosses (Jags, Rooney, Williams, Morgan - senior sales staff (nb Seamus, Yannick on long term sick) - various comments about younger and newer lads not pulling their weight.. That lanky kid, Dominic, hovering around the cooler, Mason not getting the stationery quickly enough, Dutch lad not getting the beers in, Sandro not buying the sarnies or the pints on the 2 man runs to the suppliers.

Boss: Ok thanks lads, I'll post the new shift hours after I've looked over the results on Saturday. You'll get the info about 3pm Sunday afternoon.. Wayne, you'll be out on Monday I think.. can you do a full shift on Sunday please?

Agreed mate. Only thing I'd say is the board don't appear to have backed him in terms of a striker, which he did say publicly we needed. Then again, even that wouldn't fix how disjointed we look as a team.

He's had £220m to spend in a little over a year in charge, only having to sell Lukaku and Stones from the first choice XI.

We've known Lukaku woudn't stay for almost all that time.

The system he has coached his entire career doesn't contain space for a number 10 yet he signed 3 of them. 2 of whom (Sig and Klas) require a creator and pace around them to function at all.

How much of an influence is Walsh having in signings though? No question that our transfers activity has been a bit odd but how much of that is down to Koeman ?

Nobody knows.

All I know is that our reputation for excellence in the transfer market walked out the door when Moyes (and the team he had assembled most of whom now work for United/City/Chelsea) went with him.

Since then we have reverted to a typical reckless, planless PL team.

Oh look, utterly clueless Ronald pulls even more baffling tactics and squad selections out of his arse.

With a bit of luck the stories about him banging a prostitute will be accurate and that coupled with his horrific managerial ability will mean he gets bounced out the door this week.

While there may be some element of truth in this, it's naive to solely blame the board and the lack of a striker for our recent failings on the pitch.

He also knew that Rom was off and clearly we prioritised the acquisition of other targets over a striker, or felt overly confident that we'd get one.

He's the manager (not a head coach like Conte et al.) and regardless of other individuals responsibilities, he should shoulder some of the blame.

I'm not trying to exonerate him completely, but the club failing to land targets was a problem last summer and appears to have happened again to an extent this summer.

If he has vetoed alternative targets or pinned all his hopes on Giroud then he certainly shoulders some blame, but as far as I'm aware his job role does not involve negotiations over transfers and signing players.

Because Giroud (Or any target man-type striker) would automatically solve our problems with pace, width, team shape, tactics etc.
