Ronald Koeman discussion

The perspective is we have played awful in the majority of all them games with zero attack and looking woeful in defence. Losing fair enough against these teams but the performances have been shocking! We want to be challenging top 6 didn't we at the start of the season so this isn't acceptable.

Totally this.

I am not too concerned about losing, that happens, its the roll over and die performances that are worrying.

We cant score and we cant keep a clean sheet. The players don't seem to know what they are supposed to be doing. Hardly surprising as the manager makes weird random changes every week.

I see nothing in this team at all.

What we want and what we get are two completely different things. I always thought the transition without Lukaku would be a difficult one - it was made a lot harder in these weeks without a good centre forward and a horrible run of fixtures.

We will get a lot more time in the oppositions half over the coming games. Hopefully that'll result in improved results. I don't think we'll be flying and firing 4/5 past teams but I do think we'll somehow grind out positive results.

Go back a year. Would any on here be happy with a midtable finish. Yet its is where will end up. Thats why the bedwetters were right. His tactics are wrong. Yet he is stubborn like martinez. A trait that will get him the sack.

Not knocking the changes for being negative Toff, they were just the wrong changes in regards to the players he brought off IMO.

Whether Sigurdsson is being played out of position or not, he was total gash today and offered nothing, but for some reason stayed on the pitch, I really hope the reason he was kept on wasn't because he can take a decent set - piece.

I wouldn't say he offered nothing.

He played as a second striker - yeh, not his role - but in the second half was in and around the area, something we never saw enough of from our midfielders in the past.

He missed a sitter, as did Rooney.

He didn't have a great game, but we know he's got a moment in him that can change a game, which is probably why he stayed on.

I'm with you that he should have gone off instead of Davies, though.

I would imagine if we beat Sunderland, Bournemouth and Burnley mate, we will have the apologists on calling out the 'bedwetters' about how they knew Koeman would get it right, and why they now can see us challenging the top 6, etc. Then when we get beat again, words like 'gel' will suddenly appear.

Like when they clapped Kenwright, clowns.

Yearh I have have you seen who we have upfront? Exactly.

Oh sorry mate. I thought we were in the Koeman thread.

Pretty sure Koeman has spouted numerous times that he was addressing the fact we relied heavily on one man scoring (Lukaku) and wanted to change that this season by spreading the responsibility around the squad. Well he's brought in the names he wanted, the goal scoring midfielders and nothing.

We are in the Koeman thread Matty. The point you've made here is odd. Koeman brought in the players he wanted to replace Lukaku' goals. He stated he didn't want a team that was so reliant on one person scoring the vast majority of our goals.

Stop sugar coating this utter mess.

He didn't blame it on them as such.

He basically just said that due to our run, it's a confidence issue. That isn't wrong. And we did improve once we settled.

As I've said, for me that was our best display in some weeks, yet we suffered our heaviest defeat.

Four games now that we need four wins from.
As I'm not a fan of his man management perhaps I'm reading too much into his words.

At least we can agree on the bit in bold ;)

Wait till we beat Bournemouth which we will. Koeman knows he has to win it and we will. What you going to moan about then?

There's plenty to moan about mate, and I'm an optimist really.

Koeman's tactics at the start for me were negative, but actually the way it played out we did well.

They won the game because they showed the composure our two most experienced attackers lacked.
