Season 1 - Good.
The introduction of a few new players gradually, but hampered by long term injuries to Coleman and Bolasie which made it more difficult, plus the only back up strikers to Lukaku being Kone and Valencia, yet still got into Europe and made Goodison a bit of a fortress again, so all in all I would say a success.

5 league games into season 2 - Poor so far.
An influx of new players through the spine of the team and the loss of our top goals outlet from last season have made life a bit trickier. But the introduction of some real quality into the squad will hopefully see them gel sooner rather than later.

Gylfi covered more ground than any other midfielder in the PL last season, Gana made more tackles than any other. I can see what he is trying to do here, that is put some solid performers into the side and watch them flourish.

Not really giving him a fair crack of the whip some of you, are you?

he's trying to make us hard to beat but our defense isn't good enough to get consistent clean sheets and we have no goal threat.

He has added 2 players to the back 4 who should and could be the mainstays for the next 5 years in Keane and Pickford. Sadly Williams has completely gone, Jags has a good game then a stinker, and the right back spot is still unsettled until Coleman comes back, whilst not having cover for Baines is really poor.

I believe the goals will come and the back 4 is more of an issue at present.

I'd rather see a "control and influence a game" stat than someone who runs loads stat

So on top of that, 9 goals and 14 assists not good enough for you? :coffee:

Oh well, you must have ridiculously high standards as it pisses over anything any other midfielder we had on the books!

Set. Pieces.

It's well documented Barkley has more influence from open play than our £45mill man.

So until we get a big man up top, I'll be surprised him hitting those numbers this season.

OK mate.

He probably won't hit those figures, but willing to bet he still surpasses barkley's mighty 5 goals and 8 assists.

Everton forced Talkshit into an apology today for stating that they did not try to get a striker in the window. Talkshit duly apologised on The Alan Brazil Show at 06h45 this morning.
Am i missing something here? They say we didn't try to get a striker and Everton demand an apology???
Please tell me this a wind up!!!

In the second half against the RS last night Slimani (?) played the striker role exactly the way we need someone to play the role at Everton. There are loads of specialist strikers knocking around, but posters on here seem to expect that we can 'replace Lukaku'...that will not and can not happen...we can get a couple of decent strikers ,though as long as we don't dismiss possibilities out of hand because we are perpetuating a myth that they are 'not good enough for Everton'
