Ronald Koeman discussion

You wonder what the next permutation Koeman will put out on the field at Brighton.
Will Lennon or Lookman be involved? Or Kevin Mirallas? Or Klaassen, Besic, McCarthy?
He could spend the whole season trying to find the right "blend".

There's definitely a bias towards the young players. But you have to learn to ignore it, people were screaming for Kissock and Mark Hughes a few years ago, Vellios too. It'll always happen.

If we start every game this year with the likes of Kenny, Lookman and DCL, we'll get relegated.

Unsworth is doing well managing a reserve side that is better than most, he had no premier league experience, nor does he have any proper management experience.

We're a premier league side and we need a proven manager, the fairytale would be great but he's not going to get promoted to first team manager, call up a load of reserves and finish top 4

At last someone with a sensible post. Well said.

Evertonians get far too sentimental wanting unsworth in. A bloke with no premier league managerial experience whatsoever.

We need an experienced winner if we have any aspirations of ever cracking top 6 and who knows a pot!

Wasn't Unsworth manager when we beat Norwich 3-0 at home hahah ;)

I'm not wondering, I can tell you now. Brighton are one of the weaker prem teams but he will still start with 2 defensive mids, and he will play at least 1 cm on the wings, possibly 2.

Koeman will have one year on his contract to run at the end of this season and he certainly won't be getting a new one. That then begs the question, why not just cut our losses now?

He should not be getting anymore money.

Just get rid.

It's basically a question of when and who now.
I don't think it would even cost us the full 6M per season or part of remaining. You'd hope that after Martinez that 6M was a max if all the targets KPI's were hit.

If it doesn't happen by close of business Today / Monday, we'll limp on until the Nov. Break.

Today was the day to change things. 2 CFs was a good start, but the midfielders behind me were all wrong. Why no Lookman? Why two DMs?

That being said, we have no CF or CB. Koeman isn't at fault for that. We've also got lots of injuries - Bolsisse, Coleman, Barkley, Mori, Jags, McCarthy. That's over 100M right there.

But still, the lack of adjustment is worrisome.

If that was "putting it all on the line" for him, I'd hate to see what downing their tools is like. Would they just score own goals repeatedly?

Not sure if this has already been posted on here, but @JimWhite tweeted this earlier:

Maj. shareholder @everton Farhad Moshiri: "We're in a bad moment - but these are early days & Koeman has my total support". @talkSPORT 10am

Koeman will be here until January at the earliest.

One of the concerns about Koeman is his commitment.

The 3 year contract is a red flag right away. As above he will only have 1 year left after this season.

If we don't finish in European football position again and win a cup then that means the season has been a failure and more rebuilding will need to be done. Which is the way it's looking right now.

What will be the point of doing that with a manager who only has 1 year left on his contract?! And you certainly couldn't logically give him a new longer contract because he will have just failed at his job!!

I don't see how Moshiri can say he supports in him as he is failing and the way it's going it'll only get worse.

He should get rid sooner rather than later but I imagine he'll get rid in the summer unless things get massively worse before Christmas. But then we'll still need to rebuild with a new manger over the summer and we've proven once again to be pretty naff at the transfer thing when it really matters.with the current structure in place.

Who knows, maybe things might have been different right now if they got in then players he wanted.

In my opinion Moshiri needs to step up and sort it out now and properly back a new manager and get his hands or other people involved in the club. Get rid of the trash in charge right now.

Otherwise the only hope we have is Usmanov.

...not sure anybody mentioned, but when I saw the players in the tunnel before the game I said to Mrs Eggs, "something's not right there". Little or no talk, no encouragement, no looks of determination, no smiles, no camaraderie.

We know of the spat with Mirallas, we've heard rumours of a fall out with Lookman. It's like any place of work, an unhappy camp is an ineffective camp. No signs of 'all pulling together' even if results are poor. The atmosphere within the club is down to whoever is in charge. If Koeman is cold, distant and dispassionate the players will feel isolated.

Troubled times if it's as bad as it appears.
