Ronald Koeman discussion

I'd let him get with it for now, until the end of the season... Unless we're still in this position around Christmas.

If we're getting rid of Koeman then there needs to be guarantees from the board that they're going to invest. Knowing our luck we'd end up with Unsworth in charge and £20m to spend. Who knows, maybe he'd be a revelation. Not convinced myself.
Unsworth wouldn't need 20 million he would just bring his youngsters through turn them in to players like Fergie did with his kids and win the lot. Only joking but wouldn't it be refreshing to have 4/5 home grown players as regulars performing well with an ex Everton player as manager.

It would, but I always worry that people place too much faith in the younger lads. I'm in no doubt we've got a talented bunch. Lookman, Vlasic and even Lewin who I've berated on here plenty of times have something about them. I just think they'd probably benefit being on loan in the Championship rather than being relied upon by a Premier League side.

Yes then you mentioned plus Davies, Holgate they are all capable of playing in the first team, but they need to be played when things are going well, but ATM they seem to be the shining lights in our team. That how bad the senior have been performing.

What a terrible line up, still playing the 2 defensive midfielders, one of our main problems against weaker teams, no Niasse and no DCL. We would be luck to score a goal let alone win games.
The line up was the least important thing in there - I don’t care that much who it is but he needs to put a settled team out that don’t fear punishment for taking risks and failing. Right now we are not taking risks and failing.

There's definitely a bias towards the young players. But you have to learn to ignore it, people were screaming for Kissock and Mark Hughes a few years ago, Vellios too. It'll always happen.

If we start every game this year with the likes of Kenny, Lookman and DCL, we'll get relegated.

Unsworth is doing well managing a reserve side that is better than most, he had no premier league experience, nor does he have any proper management experience.

We're a premier league side and we need a proven manager, the fairytale would be great but he's not going to get promoted to first team manager, call up a load of reserves and finish top 4

My thoughts exactly mate, and that's coming from someone who was a misguided youth screaming for Kissock (the next Rooney) to be in the team...

We will probably be back in the bottom 3 by the time we kick off at Brighton on the Sunday week as the teams directly below us are Swansea and Leicester who have home games up next against Huddersfield and West Brom-two winnable fixtures for them, that could make the Brighton game Koeman's last if we don't win it. I can't see him being sacked before then.

I saw enough of Brighton today to doubt we would get a win there as things stand right now.

Then I think we have Arsenal up next in the EPL.

Unless things change drastically over the next three weeks we will be well cemented in the bottom three by that time....and a six pointer at Leicester to follow.

Really no point in persisting with him now IMO.

Pellegrini and Ancelotti are not feasible prospective successors to Koeman.

I hate to admit this, but we're more likely to get one of the "lesser" managers that the media have been linking us with lately: someone like Harry Redknapp, Sam Allardyce or Tony Pulis.

We're just not that an attractive proposition. Small ground, no recent success. In the last thirty years we've won the same as Wigan FFS: One FA Cup. And we've only finished in the top 4 once since the Premier League began.

I'm starting to get a little annoyed with Koeman now.

I've just watched his post match interview where he specifically states that we don't have any creativity in the team at the moment

So what on earth was the 150m spent on? Is he saying not only did we fail to bring in a striker and defender but now he's failed to bring creativity in? Is he admitting the 3 number 10's he signed aren't creative enough?

Failed to bring in height, pace and width... and for me he's failed to make us more aggressive and tough on the field. Added of course that he failed to prepare us (his words) for the Atalanta game. I'm losing patience with him.

You know what George and I don't want Pulis or Sam about the place, but IMO Koeman is every bit a "lesser manager" as they are

How the heck did Moshiri ever think this fellow was a Six Million Quid P.A. elite manager :pint2:
