Ronald Koeman discussion

He won't be gone for Brighton, but the vote of confidence from Moshiri is ominous enough in its own right. A public acknowledgement that there are problems.
It's just the opening ritual of a process that has one outcome only.

He won't be gone before Brighton, we will lose, then with Lyon a fewdays later they won't risk changing before it, we will lose, then a few days later Arsenal - big game - they won't risk changing - lose, then a cup game against Chelsea - which they will panic about changing before - lose, rinse - repeat.

This is the perfect time to change a dead duck manager - but unlike the rs with Rodgers - we will wait and wait till too long

Even under normal service, we only win away very infrequently anyway, so I assume a lot of folk will be ok with a draw against Brighton.

I hope at least that Moshiri is very clear in his own mind about when and if he will draw the line with Koeman.

This in itself shows up the folly of struggling along from game to game. We are likely going to have to sacrifice points and pride in order to do what most people now clearly see the need for. Still awaiting decisiveness from Moshiri.

At home so far Brighton have beaten Newcastle and West Brom and lost only to City - and held them close until 70 mins, the way we look atm mate we will not beat them at their ground.

Saw them against Arsenal yesterday, they are well organized, and working together as a team, that will be enough for them to beat us
Just a feeling about it, it is the sort of game we will turn up and win simply to make things seem a bit better. Remember 2 years ago when we were terrible but beating Newcastle villa and Sunderland were lifelines for better things? Even as far as the February we were looking at a couple of wins for top 8 (despite never getting them).

Part of me believes that the quality of individuals will win us the odd game, a siggurdson free kick, Keane corner, niasse/lewen scoring the odd goal etc. It will be these moments that 'buy' koeman time for another week each time they happen although I won't expect substance to it.

Brighton is a perfect example of it, followed by a crashing to earth against Lyon again and the cycle will continue. I wonder what the point of no return isnfor the board though, out of 2 cup competitions and bottom half struggling to win before December is a pretty big siren to ambitious clubs

Okay, so he's not going anywhere.

Fine.

Let's get behind the team now then.

No more moaning or whinging. Myself included.

What's the point? All it does is create a negative atmosphere around the club.

If Koeman wishes to dig his own grave at Everton, let him. He'll be gone soon enough.

But if the club are going to give him time, then lets get behind the team.

There's still everything to play for.

It is the same and yet different.

There is the same atmosphere around the place and both produced terrible football teams.

The big differences though is the RK has spent £150 million to have a woeful side and at least with Martinez you could see what they were trying to do as a side.
Ye and that was Martinez downfall when it wasn't working, koeman doesn't have a style yet after over a season, although he does try to make it work with changes, which ironically could be his downfall

Hold on he has had the dreaded vote of confidence from the the owners which usually means, they're gone!

Unfortunately even if this goes further south rapidly, he won't be sacked till the fans force him out. It's a horrible way we do business that a manager has to go through weeks of horrid abuse before the board act. We are a small time club run by frauds. This won't just miraculously improve. It's a wasted season.

I think this is also part of the problem, how many different starting 11s have we had this season? If I had to guess, I'd say more than any team in the league. And this shows. They're playing like a bunch of strangers, no chemistry or cohesion. No battling through together to grind out a result.

As I said yesterday, no chemistry. Which arises from all the juggling. After such a summer of activity it was always going to take time to find the best players. There's so many not playing well he does have to keep changing it. The fault is getting the starting team wrong so often.

I'm trying to remember what made Southampton so good that RK was seen as the answer.
Two pacy wing backs, solid CBs, Tadic creating chances for the striker who's name escapes me. It wasn't rocket science anyway and they didn't have half our money.

Did koeman ask for a 3 year contract or was that what he was offered initially ?.If he should go, and i sincerely hope not i fear for whoever takes over as this forum will turn on them as fast as a spring tide if he has a bad run of results

Completely agree. We did this last season as well. If we'd of acted earlier I think we'd of had a good chance of winning the cup. We'd have also had a much better idea of whether Unsworth was up for the job. We had nothing to lose yet everything to gain. Instead we let it drag on until the inevitable happened.

This is the time to be making the change, he should be packing his bags as we speak. I think if he stays we don't win any of the next 4 games and the season is effectively over apart from the FA cup.

Are you going to stand and cheer when we can't defend against a 10 man Cypriot team, are you going to clap a team that gets beaten at home to Burnley. How do you get behind that.
