Koemans looking rough these days, Everton isn't good for you
Was he nuts mate.Sandro was awful mate. We fell apart down that side after he came on.
lack of striker is top of an increasingl long list of screw ups this season. I think they all take the blame for that one. The baord for not backing, Walsh for having no plan B,C or D after Giroud and Koeman for jetting off on Holiday as the window closed. Amateur hour at Everton when it comes to signing players in positions we actually need.Nobody with any sense is saying he didn't have a say on who signed.
But I think it is fair to say he was let down by Walsh and the board in not getting a striker in.
That being said I'm not at all forgiving him for not having a plan B.
Both deserve starting places as they offer us something different to what we have.
Schneiderlin will probably miss Sunday.
I'd go with a back three of Keane - Williams - Jags, with Davies as wing-back. Gueye in front of the defence with Sigurdsson pushed on slightly - Rooney, Mirallas and DCL front three.
I think that was one of the notable differences between the 2 sides, they were a lot more mobile, especially when breaking forward. Everton need to work on their recruitment and stop signing players who can barely move.
Williams didn't cover himself in glory for that goal, and should have done better, but so should Keane, the mistake from Sandro/Martina was criminal!
I'll judge the players when he's gone and they're playing under a manager who knows what they are doing. We'll have to disagree about last season because it was shambolic till December and woeful for last 8 games. In between we played some decent football at home. That's about it.The same players were well-drilled and coached last year mate.
He does have a lack of plan or system. I've said that. And that's unforgivable.
But the players aren't up to scratch either
I agree, to be fair he has made the changes... but the team is still doing nothing he "says" he wants from them.
I was sat not far away from him and he is literally not part of it, its almost embarrassing to watch. the only time me moans is when he turns to the bench, then the times he does talk to the players they ignore him.
He hasn't got a clue how to set the team up and put a rod up their arses to move and do what he is asking. The argument about the players maybe not being good enough is potentially valid, however, players who have no plan or identity or any clear mission on the pitch is worse.
It looks like they have given up on him.
I think pictures can sometimes be taken out of context but at face value that one is fairly illuminating. Koeman complaining to a referee when he had no real complaints because he’s struggling badly trying to make sense or rationalise a terrible situation whilst holgate one of our worst performers on the pitch is laughing seeming not to care a bit.
When you have 5-6 players like sandro, klassen, sigurdsson, Keane, pickford all arriving and regarded as the best or close to from their respective teams, arriving into a team which was far better than the teams they came from in terms of other players already there, then the failure of pretty much them all to perform comes down to the manager.
Simple as that really, change manager, and guarantee that at least some would start showing their quality.
Did you not think lyon played on the ref allowing them to go down every time someone touched them (or not in a lot of cases) and the physio having to come on? That physio must have been goosed after the game, he covered more ground than half of the players!

In fairness I didn't see a team last night that had given up on the manager.
That was Martinez.
They haven't done that. They just don't seem to know what they are doing or - as well as that - they aren't good enough to implement the instructions Koeman has given.
