Ronald Koeman discussion

Ok...I'm going to play devil's advocate here for a second...

...last night, he actually played some different guys and tried to show some sort of adjustment. We were considerably more aggressive, we had a lot more pace, and even looked dangerous at times in attack. Took him quite some time to change up the lineup, but I think he FINALLY has learned who needs to play.

However, he knows we are screwed in Europe and that he needed to play Williams at some point and rest Baines.

But he is going to refocus the team (I'm really struggling here...) on the league and come out with Kenny/Keane/Jags/Baines with Gana/Davies in front of them, Lookman/Siggy/Mirallas (maybe Vlasic), and Niasse (maybe Rooney) up front and we are going to hammer the Gunners 2-0.

He has LEARNED from his mistakes and is finally going to give up his stubborn insistence on playing Rooney and Siggy behind a Target Man because DCL cannot be that guy and we don't have another.
Lollllllll

Ok, I am going to retort to your "devils advocate". Schneiderlein, Gana, Gylfi, Rooney will all start Sunday. You know it, I know it, we ALL know it. "he FINALLY learned who needs to play" is such a funny line for a manager who has been doing this for FIFTEEN-TWENTY years.

He could always walk away himself if he's that stressed

Indeed and that would probably be the best thing to happen although when you have a billionaire owner coming out and putting things down to expected losses and backing you to the hilt no matter how poor you are, one might be tempted to feel a bit godlike and enjoy the 6 million a year for as long as you can get away with it.

So why have any sympathy for him then. I'd have sympathy for certain people in society with real stress.
Not a football manager earning 6 million a year. And managing it very badly

Its simple really. He is a human being with a wife and children and regardless of how much money he has got and how poor he is doing, i dont like to see any human being deteriorate under severe stress as he is doing. Being alive and healthy is more important than football.

But he pretty much said today that it fair game on social media.

Then he should step away. He doesn't need the job for financial security. I'm sure he's not struggling to pay a mortgage or that so if he's suffering so bad just resign. But he won't.. Because he's getting too well paid and if he does even worse will get a handsome payoff unlike people in normal jobs.

I think he has a far better work and life balance than most people

Agreed. He should walk but he wont. Said that already previously. Other than stress, there is no incentive to walk. Backed by a billionaire no matter how poor so may as well carry on getting mega bucks for as long as you can. The losers are the loyal supporters as is always the case. The board wont do anything till we are out of everything and with a mountain to climb. Looks that way anyway.
