Ronald Koeman discussion

.....a good objective for RK and Moshiri is to turnaround the status quo that exists in the city of Liverpool. Howard Kendall managed it. The status quo is that the Reds team and club are bigger and better than us and everything is hunky dory as long as the status quo is maintained. That is the case at the moment, Everton are very much the poor neighbours, Everton offer no threat.

The message to Moshiri and Koeman is please upset the status quo on and off the pitch.

Does the amount of times you've totally dismissed journalists/pundits/bloggers/fellow fans opinions/articles mean we can do the same to this?

Or is worthy of believing because it aids your hatred of Koeman?
There's a trend in those thoughts from S'ton fans.

It's funny really, because you and others were always quoting the words of some pie eaters from Wigan who'd 'called' Martinez from day one with prophetic words of advice to Everton supporters on their former manager, but when it's this Everton manager we're hearing about from his former club's fans, it's an outrage.

  • The default posture of the team is to sit deep in a narrow, compact shape in order to prevent the opponent from creating scoring chances.
  • The team only breaks the shape to press the ball when the odds of success are high and the cost of failure is minimal. (And even here it might be better to say that the whole team moves together, causing the shape to temporarily change, rather than saying that the shape “breaks.”)
  • When the ball is won, it is played forward quickly because fast attacks can catch opponents off balance and turning the ball over in the attacking third is less costly than turning it over in your own defensive third or in midfield.
  • Every player in the team has to assist defensively and sacrifice individual expression for the sake of the system.
Just to help @davek understand how pressing football should be played.

HOOOOOOOOOOOOF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No outrage mate, non at all, I'm merely pointing out that the second anyone lashed up an article on here anti Martinez you instantly called the creator, barely even acknowledging the content.

And lollollol if you're suggesting that there wasn't a trend of thought on Martinez performance here, yet you dismissed that as well. You can't have it both ways my friend.;)

Why Everton boss Koeman might ignore signing Dutch players in January

Ronald Koeman says many players in Holland lack key assests he is looking for

Everton's manager Ronald Koeman may not be going Dutch in the New Year
Ronald Koeman has suggested he would be reluctant to sign many Dutch players.

The Everton boss believes a lot of players in his homeland need to rediscover “work-rate” and their “physical strengths”.

Koeman remains interested in Dutch international midfielder Kevin Strootman and could move for the Roma man in January.

But the Everton boss says there aren’t too many players in Holland who have the qualities he is looking for.

Why Everton midfielder wants to repay show of faith

The Dutch national team failed to qualify for Euro 2016 and are currently third in their World Cup qualifying group.

“It is not about the Dutch way of playing," said Koeman. "It is about the quality of the Dutch players.

“In Holland it is really difficult because it is not a strong competition (the Eredivisie).

“Players leave Holland to play outside of Holland by 20, 21 years old.

“And now, the national team, is not at the level like France, like Germany, like Spain maybe a little bit like England.

“That is the problem in Holland. And physically, we are losing a lot in Holland because we had too much of ‘always about football’ and we lost a little bit the work-rate of players and the physical strengths of the players.

“And if you are not physically strong then you need to be a very good player.

“The Xavis, the Iniestas they don’t need to be physically strong because they have such strengths in football and feel and cleverness that they can do it but we don’t have those players in Holland.”

He'd get eaten alive in the Championship Zat... ;)

But I'm sure there's some players he does rate, but he's just making a general point about the quality of that league overall, and what the Dutch can do to improve their standing in club football as well as internationally.

Even just four/five years ago Ajax were a lot stronger than they are now for example.

I'm not surprised he's ignoring them. I watched "De Klassieker" on Saturday and AJax v Feyenoord (the top two in the table) was like watching the Queens Arms v The Dog and Duck.

They can still produce some very good individuals, but anyone valuing that league as something better than the SPL need to think again.

Proper lol at people on here thinking they know more about players out there than the manager and acting as though they are some kind of authority on the subject, it's painfully and woefully pathetic.

Football computer games should be banned for this very reason.
It's all about the agenda.

To be honest I don't see why they wouldn't know as much about a player who the manager has never worked with.

All it takes is eyes to spot a player.

So Koeman knows every single player in the planet and therefore doesnt need scouts in your opinion.

Interesting viewpoint you have.
