Ronald Koeman discussion

I tell you what he's failed to do here John, he should've put his criticism into a barely literate faux dialogue like you've been trying to do (without success) from the Kipper days

*ring ring*
The whole forum answers: Oh, it's doomsayer John, the goblin that only turns up after an Everton loss or negative news at the club. Why don't you just confirm you're a Kopite sniveller John?

John Cribb (for it is he): Sorry lads got to run, I've got a glib script involving Bill and Bob to spew out before I pretend to go to a Blue Union meeting.

There is obviously editorial print policy here because if anyone bothered to listen to the Echo podcast, you'll know they can be really scathing of this management and the last one. But don't let that pass you by from posting through your hoop
Correct. The echo podcast is a good listen and that Tony Scott is usually bang on.

Hands down the most interesting dynamic is it's the ones who supported Martinez the longest are (in the main) the first to turn on Koeman (after 4 monthslol) it's like they're so bitter about being so wrong about Martinez that they 'won't be letting that happen again'

I'm firmly pro-Koeman, it is way to early to say what type of manager he'll be for us. That being said, his comments on Lukaku are a huge clanger in terms of PR and there's some incredible mental gymnastics on display in people's attempts to deny it.

I'm the same. Huge PR gaff indeed and even huger stick handed out for him to be beaten with on here.

How many different ways can people say they're not happy with the comments?

Moshiri on Koeman's comments:

"Ronald Koeman said he believes Romelu will develop into one of the best strikers in the world in the next two to three years and wouldn’t be out of place at his old club, Barcelona."

Nobody is suggesting that

Let me qualify what I meant by that, say we loose against Swansea, on the back of the Chelsea game and his comments, the fans are going to be on his back. We saw what that did under Martinez and if we lose a few games it starts to become a vicious circle, to the point he leaves or more likely we have to sack him and that would be a waste if that happens within his first couple of years here.

I think one of the good selling points to incoming managers is that they traditionally get a good chunk of time to prove themselves here, I would not like that to change. (Especially if Mourinho keeps getting fired left right and centre... ;) )

actually, Koeman said Lukaku would not have reached his potential if he continued to play for Everton and is deserving of a bigger club to play his football at. At least Moshiri is aware though. I like Moshiri but not sure if I like Koeman.

Aye, we can't go too overboard, but I'm concerned at how many people have tried to justify it and pass it off as nothing. That sort of myopic interpretation of his statements can quickly turn to cult-think, and a whole new generation of Daveks and Prevengers are born

In context of the manager (being the manager thread) I don't know how anyone could write our manager off after 3 months? You either back the manager of your club or you want rid, and after 3 months, i would question anyone on the latter side of that fence.

True this, no one with any sense can write him off, these comments to me mean nothing, what is important is what happens on the pitch, get that right and he or anyone else can talk as much rubbish as they want.

"It has been taken out of context." Moshiri told talkSPORT host Jim White.

"Ronald Koeman said he believes Romelu will develop into one of the best strikers in the world in the next two to three years and wouldn’t be out of place at his old club, Barcelona.

"It is just player-coach talk."

lol

To be fair, it's all Moshiri could say. If he was going to address it the only thing he could say is play the lost in context card.

I think that's a nonsense mind, similar to his Sissoko bobbins but he's Koeman. He does what he likes and Moshiri isn't going to pull up his 'megastar'.
