Marvin from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is more cheerful than you. This vendetta is bordering on obsession. You know it's totally fine not to pick at everything our manager says/does, right?

TBH, I was surprised PG didn't learn from the game at the Etihad (God I hate that name!). Sucked in and mugged on the break.

I thought he'd be more circumspect yesterday. But he actually does have faith in that utter dog mess of a defence of his.
 

I expect Palace to have a go and that should suit us. But I'm not sure we'll beat them. Yesterday we maintained intensity more or less throughout which was very pleasing, away from home the challenge is to start with the same high level, and try to keep it going. We start sluggishly in the main, and that is a big problem.

Playing a team short on confidence, you hit them hard and early. Have to say the RS are particularly good at this. Score early and the guys will be buzzing after yesterday.

I read a book once on junior rugby in New Zealand and they have a saying "Never give a sucker an even break". Exactly the approach I would take to next Saturday.

Guardiola is obviously struggling to adapt fully to the PL and Koeman is acknowledging his talents as a manager and saying he'll be fine in the end. Nothing wrong with that; it's actually a nice gesture from one friend to another.

If I remember rightly, he was asked about Pep directly in the post-match interview so he had to say something, and as you say they're friends so it was always going to be something supportive. It's not like he's gone to the press to improve his image and cheer Pep up publically like the sour lemon is trying to make it out to be.

Maybe Davek envisaged the interview going like this:

Interviewer: So, Ronald, do you think Pep will get it right in the end?

RK: Nah, he's gash.

His tactics were spot on and I've mentioned a few times in various threads his substitutions were superb, right players at the right time.

I'm not particularly a fan myself but it gives us some definitive advantages. Starting up top Lukaku looks better with someone around him and Mirallas had a belter of a game (I actually think he's played pretty well recently without getting much for it). It also means Barkley doesn't have to play so far forward and can break from a bit deeper, which plays more to his strengths.

Coleman and Baines are arguably at their best going forward and I think in Baines case he doesn't have to cover as much distance getting up and down the line. At the back Williams looks poor in a two but he looks much better in a three with Holgates pace alongside him. So overall at the minute I'd say that formation suits the majority of our players and personally I'd give it a bit of a run.
