For what 15/16 years , won everything and scored at basically a goal a game . I can’t help but think at 33 they could let him have his free or at least a nominal fee and Everyone retain some dignity over this .

I don’t really care if he’s a complete arse and the other 10 players hate him that level of performance for that many years has surely earned him a move if he really wants one ? Let him go , build him a statue and wave him off . All a bit tawdry this

Everyone knows? Everyone whose mind was already made up you mean.

Its pretty common knowledge mate. It was obvious that your lawyers would walk all over UEFA, cant see why you are so touchy about it.

You won the lottery without even buying a ticket, just enjoy it, but please dont insult our intelligence by trying to justify that simple fact. You are a marketing division of the UAE, nothing more.

Sick and tired of people thinking they are funny and original when they say Oil FC. It's a derogatory name that has it's roots in xenophobia, it's lazy, and in some cases it's blatant racism. Not calling you a racist, just saying it how I and many other City fans see it. Why don't people call Chelsea Oil FC. Abramovich made his money in oil, yet it's only City with their brown owners who get that tag.
Saying UEFA failed to ban us, sounds like we were guilty but got away with it. A rhetoric that is prevalent in the media, no doubt with direction from certain clubs. An independent panel found us not guilty but people will still believe what their own prejudice and what the media tell them.
It benefits the league because everywhere he plays will sell out(covid permitting) even Liverpool have 2000 empty seats every home game. Higher profile league means that when the current tv deals are due to renew, the Prem will be in a stronger position. Messi coming benefits every club in the long run.

Defensive much?

My remarks have Nothing to do with racism thanks, Norris, and I don't appreciate the implication form your post.

I think I could call your club much worse than Oil Well FC, as Roydo and Bruce have capably demonstrated, so I will leave It there.

Like I said before, you should embrace the names, as that it what your club is now mate, and there's no getting away from it.

Couldn’t happen to a nicer fan base.

One of the few fan bases that can match the kopites for toxicity and self entitlement.

I've heard that a fair bit from different people, but to be honest I haven't a clue.

I do remember seeing them lose in the champions league to Inter (I think?), then turn on the sprinklers to stop them from celebrating. One of the most petulant things I've ever witnessed in any sport. Could hardly get any worse than that. Kopite move for sure.

Football is what it is sadly

Any sense of fairness, honesty and decency died along time ago

No way anyone will pay anywhere near that amount, so will it boil down to a battle of wills between Barca, their board, Koeman and Messi?

If they're not going to sell him, I could potentnally see Koeman being axed sooner than later because in the end they will have to side with Messi.

I reckon 70 million might do it. He's on a ridiculous wage too so they would be mad to not accept a half decent offer. And on the flip side a club would have to be crazy to offer 150 million or more for a player that age no matter who it is.

If they do build him a statue then let's hope they don't get the guy who sculpted the statue of Ronaldo. lol

Gerrard Pique had to tell the Barca fans during a TV interview to stop hurling abuse at Andre Gomes when he was there.

Some of the abuse hurled at Neymar when he left was absolutely horrendous as well.

Vile fan base.
When you become so self-absorbed and feel like you are entitled to everything, this behaviour becomes the norm. See the rs as a case in point. Always lead to believe it was Real but starting to see that Barcelona are probably worse.

Not sure "worse" is an accurate description there - Barcelona certainly display all the holier than thou crap of a team that pretends it is the only team in the city (never mind the entire region), but the other lot are genuinely evil.
