Southampton played nice football when Ronald Koeman was their manager. He also improved a lot the way that the national team of the Netherlands was playing. There is something more to it, not just the manager.
tactically he's probably good, the man management side not good and for the love of gawd don't you dare leave a checkbook around him.

He is weak all that talking over the summer and surrenders when the former president called his bluff
That's not really what happened. Messi wanted to cancel his contract and would have, but COVID threw the dates off and so the season wasn't over when his clause expired. Barca then said they wouldn't sell without someone paying some ridiculous sum. I guess he's weak because he wouldn't take them to court over it?

Who are Manchester City mate?

Well that’s a million dollar question isn’t it. For me they no longer exist, but if “city group” end up signing Messi and passing him amongst their franchises that will be a final straw for many.

I was watching PL years earlier today and it was circa 2006/07 and the city ground (I think that was the name pre etihad) was absolutely heaving. It must be fierce frustrating for Abu Dhabi inc that they can’t replicate that atmosphere despite the investment and obvious improvement in football.

What do you mean by final straw? Why is anyone bothered if New York, or City sign Messi?
