Auba didn't exactly have a bad starting point.

But I'd take him in a heartbeat - he's actually my first choice for the job and I think we should be all over him.

Not expecting him to turn coal into gold mate, but pretty sure the best younger players WOULD get played and trusted, we would put in place a system and relatively settled first 11 and stick to it as well.

Of the managers we could get - he is a country mile ahead of the rest, who are either gonna be coming in from 2nd rate leagues by and large, ones whose age would be a worry as to ambition left (Pellegrini and maybe ancelotti etc) or the latest flavour of the month who as we know with martinez can be massively misleading long term.

Talking sense there Mountfield. Unlike a lot of ex players for other clubs, you can always hear how respectful ours are and how passionate they are. You could tell he didn't like Koeman but put it in a respectful way.

I've always loved that about the majority of our ex players, it's still "we" "we're" "us" but done on a respectful way.

Remember having a conversation with Mountfield about Moyes a few years before he left and he was adamant then that Moyes wasn't good enough to manage Everton! Top bloke, massive blue
