Ronald Koeman

Ronald Koeman...good choice for us?

  • yes, he'll get us top 6 and stability

  • no, it's uninspiring even if top 6 is back on

  • josé on toast

I prefer waiting till our and other clubs transferbusiness has been done before giving a definite opinion on that. As I look at it now, 8th place doesn't have to be such a bad result. See what the outgoings and incomings gonna be.

No matter the 2 last seasons under Martinez, we still have a pretty decent squad to start with. Now if Stones and Lukaku are going to leave. Not so sure on that myself, as there won't be that many clubs prepared/able to match our (supposedly) £65m asking price, we'll have to take a step back before moving forward.

Imo the top 4 will become more of a top 7 or 8 in the coming years with Liverpool, Spurs, West Ham and us being the most likely to make that step up. If we finish eight in the end but Koeman lays a solid foundation to build upon than it wouldn't bother me too much.

As I said though, I'd prefer to wait till after the transfer window to really form an opinion on what league finish would be acceptable.
I think if we can get in the top 6 it will be an excellent achievement

I think we need to be realistic though, this Prem us tougher than it's ever been

I'm curious as to how Koeman will see our situation in right midfield. He has three decent-to-good players to choose from in Mirallas, Lennon and Deulofeu. I wonder who he will typically end up selecting as first choice?

but surely, you are not paying him as one of the world highest paid managers, with potentially huge transfer kitty to finish 7th?

I think Moshiri will want him to be in the top 4 mate, but it may take a little time. Take your own club for example, it would be disrespectful to just assume that we would waltz ahead of you because we might spend some money. There are others in that bracket too. It would be supreme arrogance and I won't partake in it.

It will take time for us to get things right. Next seasn if we can finish in the top 8 that will be a pretty decent season. Anything on top will be a nice bonus.

Mirallas is better on the left tbh. Lennon and Deulofeu also had spells of being our best player last season, I'd say they're better than good.

Lord knows I fit into this bracket myself.....do the same thing over and over and expect a different result.....the definition of foolishness. So why hire a guy from a team that has had the same consistency issues as Everton and appears to have and the same old Premier League approach to things ? Why not be different ? Ranieri ? Sevilla's coach ? Bring in a few players off contract, support the younger players and hope like heck that we don't get relegated next year in the hope of coming back with a strong, cohesive top 5 squad in 2018. The current roster has had its time. BTW, where did that orange kit come from......inspired by Oumar on work release ???
