They were all completely adamant that there was no chance that we'd be able to prise Koeman away, and were largely convinced he'd sign a new contract

Now they're trying to make out he was some sort of half arsed, package holiday waster, who was a watered down version of Pochettino, despite the facts proving otherwise.

In short, they're stinging like a ring piece the morning after a Vindaloo and are desperately trying to convince themselves that he wasn't all that and they'll do far better.

You would have to wonder what that would mean for Barkley though, if Mata was playing as a number 10?
