A bit baffled that people would be happier with De Boer than Koeman. The latter has as good of a record in Holland as De Boer and crucially has actually proven himself in the Premier League.

I don't see any reason why a manager who is likely to guide Southampton to consecutive top 7 finishes would be seen as anything other than a really good appointment.

That is crucial for me. Why gamble on an unknown quantity when we can have someone who has actually done the business in the Premier League. Let De Boer "prove" himself at another club.

Basically that it would be a sideways step coming from Saints to Everton, saying it in a manner of, how dare Everton, think they are a big club.

The only reason Koeman would consider us, is because of the transfer money.

Oh, the rat-faced kopite with the charm and wit of a rattle snake that's just gone three rounds with a honey badger has an opinion on Everton does he? Super.

Koeman has used 9 different formations this season in the league with varying success.
Could be that he sets up his teams based on the opposition.

Cant say i have seen many other managers change formation so much.

So we have a crap manager for 2 seasons and all of a sudden we are below Soton, our squad is better than theirs, Martinez has not clouded my judgement of the players.

Where have Soton finished in the league over the last 10 years compared to us?

A selling club against a club with a better squad and 150m to spend for a new manager, yeah he'll stay at Soton for sure won't he if he's asked to join us.

Well i obviously agree what with being an Everton fan but I'm afraid we are in the minority.

Also the £150m figure has been plucked out of thin air, there has been no word whatsoever on how much the next manager will have to spend.

For Koeman i believe it will be viewed as a bit of a sideways step.

No. I'm not suggesting that.

Koeman has done brilliantly with Southampton and if he was given the resources at us could possibly take us to the next level.

It's a reasonable and logical selection...

Who would you go for? Emery - can't get Sevilla into Spain's top four, as good as he'd done with them in Europe? De Boer, who is roundly criticised for his style at times despite winning the Eredivise - which really is expected of him? Mourinho, who reliable sources have said we have been in discussions with?

I've said it before, but bar Pep (and even then who knows), I don't think one manager in the world can guarantee a title challenge for any club. Not one. And certainly you'd be hard pushed for anyone to do it with this current crop of players...
I don't have the answer I just agree with c3po or whatever he's called when he couldn't understand why Koeman was such a popular choice........if Southampton to Everton is a sideways move I'd say Koeman for Martinez is also.........Oh and Sammy Lee no thanks

Has koeman done a press conference today? Surely he's been asked to comment on all this speculation?

Quite a dramatic change from the tactically dogmatic Martinez.
