Got to admit, I'd be happy with Koeman.
I like what he's done at Southampton, he's had to do a load of rebuilding with a lot of top quality players leaving. I feel like he'd have a similar job to do at Everton this summer with the likes of Lukaku leaving.
Not ever going to be the most popular choice, as it seems like a sideward step to many of our fanbase. It's unlikely that we'll ever attract Mourinho, and that all of this is a media stunt to pressurize United into sacking van Gaal.
Granted, he's not my first choice - I think he'd be a good manager going forward. He sets his sides up well, and given a bit of money it'd be interesting to see how he actually does.
Everyone has a right to disagree, but regardless of what happens we need to get behind the new manager.
Regarding his current situation at Southampton, I'm not sure how much it would cost for us to buy out his contract.
Does it really matter? Probably not, a good manager is always going to be worth whatever sum is required to attract.
Unity is key among the support, and I think that Koeman will be a popular choice for the majority of supporters.
That being said, this could potentially backfire - people seem to expect and want more.
Changes aplenty at Goodison Park, and with that comes a change in mentality.
Having seen our club languish for all of my adult life, one would hope that the glory days are back.
Most of us on this forum know this pain.
Anyway, I'm rambling on a bit.
