  • yes, he'll get us top 6 and stability

  • no, it's uninspiring even if top 6 is back on

Once the season is over we will see the people who have a genuine interest come out of the woodwork. Koeman was never going to say anything else today, just two days before an important game for them.
It's what he says on Monday and next week that is important, just as it is for everybody else.

Possibly the most annoying thing about this process is the way the media pick a group of managers at a level they decide is suitable for Everton.
Mourinho for Everton is not even considered before it is dismissed because they do not see us at that level.
It is why the success and Ranieri is so amazing for the whole media circus.

The state of some blues in here saying Saints are big

Get a grip

Even Southampton fans have enough self respect to brag that they're bigger than us. We're probably the only set of fans in the league who would have people agreeing with them. Honestly it's embarassing, they spent a decade on the championship and have one major trophy to their name.

Fear not, Koeman's coming regardless, I feel it very strongly - every man has his price. That he refutes these claims two days before a season finale means nothing. Zilch, zipsky.....

He's the man we need, and I'm so confident he is that I'll say this (pay attention Mods, this is a pink slip statement!).... IF Koeman is indeed our new manager and we do not improve on this season's points tally, I am more than happy to be banned permanently from Grand Old Team. **crowd whoops and holds up signs**

That's how confident I am he'll sort us if he is appointed. Whaddaya reckon? Need Vince McMahon here TBF.

They're famous for Jimmy McCalliog (the scorer of the goal that won the FA Cup)

Bobby Stokes scored the goal in the '76 cup final.

If Rhino was left in charge I'd be confident of that

We,ve only just sacked our manager and your pulling your pants down after day 1.
Give it some time, let the club explore all the options.

You mean let MOSHIRI explore all the options, with a series of fan-hosted conclaves held at Goodison.... Kenwright and Elstone (if not given their marching orders with a 50%+ buyout) need to be held hostage in a warehouse until the new man is appointed

Southampton:
2015 - 7th (Premier League)
2014 - 8th (Premier League)
2013 - 12th (Premier League)
2012 - 2nd (Championship)
2011 - 2nd (League 1)
2010 - 7th (League 1)
2009 - 23rd ((Championship)
2008 - 20th (Championship)
2007 - 6th (Championship)
2006 - 12th (Championship)

Yeah, we all knew Southampton have been plying their trade in the lower leagues the past 10 years as that is where they belong naturally (Only 38 seasons in top flight). The only thing I'm surprised about is that next season will be their fifth season in the Prem in a row. Time Flies.

That's not going to be difficult though is it.... :)

Koeman knows the score. I remember a couple of months back, he was on Monday night football with Carragher. They were talking about the best ever free kick takers - Koeman of course being one.
Carragher asked if he'd heard of Kevin Sheedy:
'Of course, at Everton, great player'.

Didn't mention Francis Benali..

ITS ON!

Why are Southampton fans so convinced his next job will be with an elite team ? He's finished 8th and most likely 7th in the last two premier league seasons, pretty good for a club like southampton but thats hardly the kind of performances that are going to alert barca, real, bayern etc

Hi Evertonians!!

I've read through this thread and I have to say there are some deluded chaps amongst you. Ronald Koeman is not going to be your manager, he's reiterated his position (again) today, there is no chance he will be leaving us before next summer. He's happy here, why would he take a step down and join Everton? You were a big club once upon a time, but let's not kid ourselves, you're not exactly flying these days are you? Koeman will sign an extension next week, of that I am certain. He may well leave us next summer, but it will be for a proper big club HE'S THAT GOOD!!

Good luck with whoever you get....Brendan Rogers is available !
