Irony of saints fans saying we are deluded but then claiming to be a bigger club...
Currently contracted players signing extensions isnt the same as actually buying new ones..
Wanyama and Mane want out.
If they are not replaced Koeman walks.
It really is that straightforward.

Koeman indicates he's 'happy' at Southampton and Ward-Prowse, VVD and Forster all sign long-term contracts...
Does this suggest that Koeman is indeed ruling himself out of running for them Everton job?

Surely the best opportunity we'll ever have to get a manager as successful and high profile as Jose ?
You rule yourself out of the Everton job by saying "I'm ruling myself out of the Everton job."

Anything else is a tacit admission that you're interested.

Exactly. Like Mark Hughes has just done (even though nobody wanted him) but that's what you say. "I don't want the job" and everyone would move on.

He's happy here, why would he take a step down and join Everton?
Step down to a club with nine domestic first division titles, FA Cup cups and a European trophy? With attendances nearly ten thousand greater?

We may not be in the strongest of positions right now I admit, but in the long term we're a much more stable and attractive prospect.

Hi Evertonians!!

I've read through this thread and I have to say there are some deluded chaps amongst you. Ronald Koeman is not going to be your manager, he's reiterated his position (again) today, there is no chance he will be leaving us before next summer. He's happy here, why would he take a step down and join Everton? You were a big club once upon a time, but let's not kid ourselves, you're not exactly flying these days are you? Koeman will sign an extension next week, of that I am certain. He may well leave us next summer, but it will be for a proper big club HE'S THAT GOOD!!

Good luck with whoever you get....Brendan Rogers is available !
We'll take Koeman from you to manage our under 21 side, and he'll still be at a bigger club than Southampton.

who cares what saints fans say all of a sudden or anybody else for that matter, we have a good history and more importantly now have a decent chance of having a bright future , for the first time in decades.
I can understand the likes of them ,west ham ect thinking we are nothing these days, that's a legacy of blue bill and his little old Everton mantra. not when you look at are overall history when we have been at the forefront of some many football related things. here are a few, saints are welcome to try and match them.
  • Goodison Park was the world's first purpose made and designed dedicated football ground.
  • Goodison Park is the only club ground to have hosted a world cup semi-final.
  • Goodison Park was the venue for England v Republic of Ireland 21 September 1949. England lost 2–0 & this was their first home defeat to a non-UK country. Everton's Peter Farrell scored.
  • Everton were the first English club to appear in European competitions five seasons running (1962–63 to 1966–67).

  • They have scored and conceded more goals in the top division than any other club.[6]
  • Everton have both drawn and lost more top flight matches than any other side.[6]
  • They hold the unusual distinction of being reigning League champions for the longest time. They won the championship in 1915 and thus remained reigning champions until the 1919–20 season due to the World War Ileague cancellation. They were also champions in 1939, and again remained reigning champions until the league resumed in 1946-7 after World War II.

  • Most disciplinary points received in the Premier League (2 points for a red card, one for a yellow): 1252 [7]
Continental records[edit]
  • Goodison Park, built in 1892, was the world's first complete purpose-built football ground.
  • Everton were the first club to install undersoil heating in their stadium.
  • First club to win a penalty shoot-out in the European Cup – 1970 v Borussia Mönchengladbach

Thats without mentioning, like of Dean , Lawton,Mercer,Young , Ball, ect and there achievements, or what we have won

For the record i couldn't care less if we got if we got Koeman i don't want us to be a stepping stone to barca or anybody else, i want somebody that really wants to be here and achieve something.
His record in the prem is on par with Moyes.
Sooner have somebody hungry or a wise old head like the city boss to be honest.

Latest on their forum:

Everton? Everton? They're not even the biggest club in their city.

I suppose they do have that over us., that they can claim to be the biggest club in their city. What a daft argument though. So Atletico, Inter or Man City can't claim to be a big club because of who they share their City with.

All this from a club who have one top four finish in their whole history and have spent more time in the second tier than they have in the first, with 6 of the last 10 years being spent in the Championship or League 1 lol.

If they'd have admitted we're the bigger club, but it may not mean much to Koeman as he wants to stay and work with a team that he currently has in the top 7 while we're languishing in the bottom half for a second successive season, i'd have had no issue with it. But trying to ridicule us as if they're some European Giant and we're minnows is quite amusing.

Boils my piss when fans of other clubs dish out the 'not even the biggest club in their city', 'in Liverpool's shadow' shouts. And yet still bigger and won more than your tinpot clubs.

people should remember Liverpool the football club were Everton's offspring, we created them, they would not exist without Everton. We were first. We left Anfield. Their success is our success. We have won the champions league and have 27 titles. they cannot say the same about our success. we know this and we should remember this when people say the above :p

soton fans, bless them may be enjoying their 'success right now. sweet for them.
