Great player but no bottle, he didn't go to a big club but stayed in his little pond.agreed, top player and scorer of some real beauties.

The most famous thing to leave Southampton was the titanic. which went downfirst we've had your cruise ships off, now your manager, you're pretty much our feeder city, soton you small time beauts
Why is every single one of your posts always 1000 words long and in mad fonts, italics and all that? Thanks for the post mate. There's clearly a fair bit of anger in their which while understandable does weaken your argument which is fairly sensible.
The fact that you know little about football (and need to go and google it) is plain ignorance. Just because you are ignorant though doesn't mean that it doesn't exist. Southampton and Everton historically are not comparable at clubs in terms of size. You might not like that or even know that but it doesn't mean it isn't the case.
However where I agree with you is that history doesn't automatically mean it's a sensible move for Koeman. Currently you are 7th while we are 12th. He would be leaving to go to a side below them in the league. He's onto a good thing at Southampton, excellent youth academy, decent facilities (not as good as Finch Farm but still strong) and a very stable set up. He has good players and is well respected by the fans. It seems like a no brainer, why would he want to move?
I think that is the crux of the question. While I would like to say the history of the club would sway him I doubt very much this is more than just an incidental factor. If managers decided clubs on what they had won in the past as a central factor then it is very unlikely a club like Southampton could have attracted Koeman. There is obviously a lot more to it.
Whether you like it or not Koeman is very keen on the Everton job so you do have to ask why? For an Everton fan it makes me optimistic that we can interest a manager from a club like Southampton. It means what we are offering, in terms of a vision, both in terms of transfers and how we want the club to move forward over the next few years. Common is obviously willing to take a big risk to come here.
We may not elect to go for Koeman. I hope we don't as I still think we can do better. However do be aware that if we want Koeman and Koeman can convince us he wants to come to Everton he will come. It is a bit harsh but Koeman was always going to move onto a bigger club. There is no serious way you can say Everton are not bigger than Southampton so there's no point being angry. Even within the PL years, you've probably finished above 3 times in a generation. Within the last few years you were nearly bust in division 3. Our squad is no weaker than yours. The nucleus of it is largely unchanged from the squad that regularly finished in the top 6 and 2 years ago got 72 points (enough to finish probably second this year).
I am being very generous to you to say our squads are on a similar level our squad is potentially much better. Whether that is under Koeman or not we don't know. I hope not, but maybe we will have to settle for him.

Don't agree that he's a mid table manager. Do agree we should be aiming higher.Koeman is just another mid-table manager.
We should be aiming higher, imo.
I think my Mac may be faulty!
