  • yes, he'll get us top 6 and stability

  • no, it's uninspiring even if top 6 is back on

just came across my mind when reading the manager's thread. I.e. if Emery would ask us, why was i not the first choice over koeman, our answer would possibly be what you say ... would that then make him question how ambitious we are, or respect the honesty.

.... based on the feedback i got when asked a similar scenario question from my uni dissertation, i probably wouldn't go with the honesty answer haha

It's starting to feel to me that landing monchi would actually be a bigger deal than getting a manager who has won three european titles back to back, will just sit back and see how it all pans out.
TJ, the fact that we are actually doing all this massively behind closed doors is amazing mate.

It's a hard thing for some blues to grasp that it's Everton picking the best available here and not going for the options that the press say we have.

Bloody exciting innit.

Language skills would be an easy answer - especially if it is something that Emery has improved in the year since he was considered for the West Ham job.

Seem to recall that he himself said one of the reasons he failed in Russia was his inability to communicate effectively and, despite the number of Spanish speakers in the squad, it is a valid concern especially in such a media driven league.

Koeman being back in the picture makes me think of that scene from Airplane! 2 with Shatner when he says they need to go to the bridge, but don't have one.

"wait, Everton are going for EMERY? WHY DID NOBODY TELL ME THEY WERE A FANTASTIC OPTION!??"

Yeah, not bothered by the random returning Koeman links now.

For one, they come from sources I ain't into. And two, there's just way too much smoke in Sevilla for there not to be fire.

" Hi Davie, big BK here.. We've had a think about the job and we would like to offer you the role... Of translator for the new Spanish tea lady we're bringing in.. You spent a few months in Spain and we reckon your perfect.. "

Better to bring Phil back, at least he made an attempt to try to learn!

An alternative -
"Hi Rom, we know you are fluent in 6 languages and like to talk a lot so here is your new role translating for Unai" ;)

I hope you are right.

Of all the leading contenders, Koeman is the one whom underwhelms me entirely.

Lineker is fluent in Spanish.
He will be doing MOTD in his pants first game and interviewing Emery..
" sorry viewers but Unai isn't fluent in English yet, but having just smashed 4 past Liverpool in his first game I will have to interview him in Spanish.."
