Ronald Koeman...good choice for us?

  • yes, he'll get us top 6 and stability

  • no, it's uninspiring even if top 6 is back on

If he ends up as our manager, imagine the influence he could have on Stones. Koeman was an absolutely incredible player. Like top 20 ever good. Martinez wasn't even in the top 20 best ever Wigan players.

The way I see it, even if he is only here for a couple of seasons before moving to Catalonia, he'll at least stabilise us back in the top half of the table during that period and set the table nicely for whomever his successor will be

We had to get away from the bottom half finishes first before anything else, and Martinez didn't seem capable of doing that, which is why he had to go. Tactically he was flawed, hence it made sense to try out someone else

Koeman isn't the most thrilling option, but he's solid enough. Success won't come over night, it's going to take time and maybe a couple of managers first, ala Man City, but we can get there

It was too early for a Jose type calibre guy to come here, much as we wanted one

In 2 years time, after some solid upper table finishes, we'll have a much better chance of getting someone like that should Koeman move on

Again, not the most thrilling appointment, but "The Frying Dutchman" will get my full support should he be the next manager

If Barcelona come in for him after 2-3 years it will be because he has done a very good job here, which I'm sure we'll all be happy with.

Unless you're talking about Espanyol, of course...

spot on mate, people want it all now....someone like emery now could be a disaster

If he signs, getting our business done quickly rather than the usual last day scramble points to a much brighter future.

If Koeman signs I've no doubt he will be excellent. This is the best manager we've had since HK make no mistake, as a player and now a manager the man is a winner. With Moshi's backing he will build a team with strong characters capable of winning cups and finishing high in the league.
Moshiri, Koeman, Monchi could still be possible, new stadium on the horizon. Great times for Everton ahead.

My only gripe would be paying absolutely mental wages and a massive transfer kitty to stabilise in the top half, I just don't want to see him do a decent job and then moves on to another club and the money hasn't progressed us to challengers. I must admit i don't want him but It's going to be exciting and interesting to see exactly what he does, and I will be behind him.
