hed probs still get into that team though, were dying for someone who can take the ball and turn on it

i dont really get the american footballer reference, are they meant to not be very clever?

ive seen Ballers like, they just seem a bit decadent more than anything
I just meant he plays soccer like he's an American football player playing soccer

It really annoys me this delusional blind-spot so many supporters have when it comes to Barkley, that he was underappreciated and somehow forced out. Martinez gave him free reign to do whatever and not actually develop for 3 years. He was given more time than any player and didn't make the most of it and then sulked because a new manager started demanding regular performances out of him.

Cheating the club out £20m along with his agent and Chelsea in a pre-agreed scam, he's an utter snake and will never the intelligence to be a really great player. A top form Sigurddsson is undoubtedly better to have and even Rooney, as crap as he was most of the time, chipped in with more goals than Barkley would ever get in a season. F him, I'd laugh if his career ended tomorrow.

I think we're seeing something here that happens a lot with our fan base where players who leave always have to be talked down or made out to be rubbish

You saw it with Lukaku and Stones as well

I see it as a sort of coping mechanism

We're sad a player leaves so we act like they were rubbish all along, as it helps us feel better

Makes sense like, but I don't subscribe to it myself

Pretty mild temperament for a pit bull like.
He was never one to mix it in the middle of the park - played like he came from Formby, not Wavertree. It was great that he wanted to play football, and not just run around tackling stuff, but he wasn't the man for a 50/50 [strong lad, as well]. Don't know if he's permanently gun shy after that bad leg break he had when he was younger, or if it's just the way he is.
Some pits are actually quite sweet and friendly. It's dachshunds you have to watch out for, they're evil little buggers.
