Ross Barkley joins Chelsea, er, Villa on loan

It's funny really, Barkley plays well, and it's "He's only done it against Burnley, etc" yet Sigurdsson is hailed as top quality after a few good performances against the likes of Fulham, Southampton, Leicester, no, no blue tinted specs being worn there like.
What i dont understand is why people feel they have to compare these two, why cant we just be happy that Siggy is playing very well, why cant we be happy or at least not care that Barkley is doing well, its crazy. There realy is no need to compare them, its not like they both play for us, and its not like we wanted Barkley to go, he would be here now if he wanted, he moved on why cant we.
Besides plenty of players have left Everton, and done ok some place else, Besic at his level and Fellaini at United but we dont have a big thread talking about him, even tho he is doing good at a top level club, its just weird.

I agree we shouldn't be comparing them mate, Sigurdsson is doing alright with us at this moment in time, and Barkley is doing alright at Chelsea at this moment in time as well. The point I'm making though is some are saying Barkley is playing alright because it's only against the like of Burnley etc, yet Sigurdsson is now boss even though he's only doing it against the same calibre of teams.

Heres another thing people keep banging on about, the club who 'made him'.

Yes he was at the club at a young age, but do you think the club done this as a charity case picking random kids off the street regardless of ability and moulding them into premier leauge players. No they pick up the most talented (rightly so) kids they can find and sign them up in hope it will benefit the club in years to come, its a long term investment.

I have a good friend who was with us since he was 8 up until under 18s, was captain of his age group the majority of the time, this lad sacraficed all his weekends as a kid while we where all out drinking and doing things kids of our age did he was getting off at half 7 8 at night. Eventually he was let go by us without a second thought, nothing. After all he had commited to the club. He ended up at Bristol rovers then jibbed it a few years later.

Moral of the story, its was Barkley geting home late every night after a full day in school going straight to training while all the other kids where out playing, it was him putting in countless hours on the training pitch, it was his mum and dad taking him to training everyday after they finished work. It was him who persisted through the injurys and the doubts to do what so many dreamed of and so many come oh so close to doing.

Yes the club gave him an opportunity, but it never made him. He like so many other young kids gave the club his childhood, who if he wasnt good or lucky enough as in some cases would have done it all for nothing.

He made it himself along with the help of his parents.

Any other kid whos played at that level, or father/mother who has been through it with them will tell you the same.

So before you start thinking Barkley owes the club everything, owes the same fans something who so easily turned there back on him like they are now doing with Davis, think what the lads been through.
That’s an emotional post but let’s be honest, most of us would put the hours in to entertain the dream of being an Everton player. It’s no different to me putting the hours in to get to University. Actually it is different. Playing football every night sounds a lot more appealing than studying.

Its nothing like university, thats comparing a sacrifice of lost childhood against versus one of the best times of your life.

Trust me ive done both.

Oh the fecking gall of the man.
Uncle Roy now saying that Ross is now showing the signs of the player that he thought he would be.
So the knob doesn't feel any responsibility for destroying him and his confidence when he was in the England squads?

Hope Ross slots a hattrick and shuts owl face up. I remember him foaming at the mouth when Barkley was the only player on the pitch daring to do something inventive/imaginative on the ball.

You look at the likes of Pulis, Allardyce and Hodgson and wonder how they´ve gotten away with it for so long. Boring, negative, safety first football that fans utterly despise.

Roy Hodgson bullied Ross after a great season for us. Disgraceful.

It´s obvious to us about the type of character Barkley is. I don´t think Martinez, Hodgson and Koeman did anything but stifle his career with their handling of him and all for different reasons.

Martinez was the only one who seemed to have any fondness for him.
