Ross Barkley joins Chelsea, er, Villa on loan

No mate, his best spell in the blue of Everton was under Koeman, which is why a lot of people were upset when he left the way he did.

Your Spanish man love had him playing out wide the clueless biff :)

I wouldn't say it was his best spell myself, mate. Koeman drilled a lot of discipline and work off the ball into him, something Martinez never thought to try and and instil. However he lost some of the explosiveness and the goal threat during that time because Koeman restricted him and hounded him for any little mistake.

I wouldn't have blamed Ross too much had he left the previous summer because it was clear Koeman wasn't for him, and we'd have been 35 mil up. However his running his contract and his price down all while using Everton's facilities to recover is what left a sour taste in my mouth.

The spell from November / December to end of April was his best spell at the club, look back over that period. Him and Lukaku were on fire.

Had 2 choices for a pass. Hazard (I think?) who would’ve been clean through or Willian who already had a defender making a beeline for him. Which one do we think he chose?

The less obvious one - because it was the best choice (and more difficult to execute: played with the outside of his foot and giving the defenders the eyes the other way). If Willian hadn't been so goosed he'd have been in and bearing down on the GK. Instead he drifted wide with it and didn't get a clean shot off.

Personally I’d rather play the best player on the pitch by a country mile clean in and get the assist but each to their own.

The pass he chose was fantastic on my opinion. When I watched it I thought what a great choice.... purely as nobody else in the stadium thought he’d do that as half of them wouldn’t have even seen it.... ok the end product wasn’t as he’d hoped but that was a spark of real inventiveness

Well done Ross lad. Maybe next season he can move on bigger and better things. Maybe one of those benches with the heating on underneath.

Has his move been justified?
Had plenty of game time this season, got back in the england squad, has a few medals too.

People saying he's flopped are looking at it through royal blue tinted specs
