Ross Barkley joins Chelsea, er, Villa on loan

He's not interested in anything other than getting top four and doing well in the CL so it maintains his credentials as a top class coach. Then he'll be gone in May. He doesn't want to be there. The LC was less than nothing to him.

Bollocks Dave and you know it
They all treat the league cup with contempt early on but when you are in the semi final with one game and then the final you go for it
He knows he’s sacked in the summer but he would have wanted to win the league cup get top 2/3 and go well in the CL so he could put 2 fingers up at Roman and have the fans on his side.
No manager or player wants to lose a semi final., unless your Roberto or Lukaku of course

So why did he put a half fit Barkley on?

Who else had he got
He was told by the club that Barkley was a great player
He had a lot of injuries before the game and took a chance no midfielder would get injured
All 65 young midfield players are loaned out

And since Emmanelo( sp) left they have no real technical team.
It’s been run temporarily by a woman who overlooks all footballing matters
That’s why they are linked to the Dutch DOF we are seemingly interested in.
So bought by a committee for a manager who doesn’t rate him or need him

My view hasn't differed for some time.

Good player.
Great athlete.
Capable of some great individual moments (Man City/Newcastle/Norwich).
Doesn't possess the mentality to be integral part of any top club.

That last point based on his hesitancy on the ball and he didn't "boss" enough games for Everton, his bottle went in every single Merseyside derby.

He put Barkley on because he hates Michy Batshuayi. He will soon hate Ross Barkley probably.
They won't be his problem next season anyway.

Even if Ross fails there like us with Sandro they will get a profit on the deal when they sell such is the market now and the price of homegrown players.

Don't get me wrong Barkley to Chelsea for £15m was a very safe investment and as you say even if he is pish some desperate muppet like West ham (or us God forbid) will buy him for double what they paid for him.

I still hope he fails though. I wish him nothing but misery from a personal perspective because of how he shafted us but from the clubs view if someone like barkley leaves us and doesn't do well it might convince other youngsters who are in demand to stay with us in future.

His professioanlism is the problem and likely mentality is the route cause, naturally gifted but does not make nearly enough of that talent.

Enough jokes about his time keeping from players when he was with us, add in the night clubbing, getting a smack can happen to the best of us, fact he was out mid season because we had won against lecister, told me he lacked professioanlism.

Actually the lengh of his last contract was very telling, to end in a world cup season, never for one minute swallowed local boy living the dream with his club!

Nevermind how fit he was, on the ball he looked exactly like he did for us, slowing the play down, little short passes going nowhere, and taking 3 or 4 times the time to pick a pass that Hazard does.

He will fail at Chelsea, he's not good enough, after last night it may be a while till Conte brings him on again.

Agreed and this reminded me of how quick Lallana's passing is. I noticed this when he came on against Swansea. We need that in our team.

Not disagreeing with anything you say, I wish him all the ill will in the world though hope he doesn't get injured, just plays crap and gets slaughtered. I hope he is a new Jeffers who thought the grass was greener and it certainly wasn't after shitting on his own club.
