"Minimum fee" yeah, it's defo a load of wank then. He's either got a buyout clause or he hasn't.

I honestly think if we don't qualify for the Champions League in two years time then Ross Barkley will still be the best player in the world and worth a minimum fee of at least one billion euros.

When you look at it and you consider Ross's potential as a player, it's hard to overestimate the potential he has as a player. Other clubs would be looking to hold on to a player of that calibre and it's a joke that we're even considering sending text messages about him.

Minimum fee of £44m? LOL.

Kenwright's done some stupid things as Chairman of this club, but putting a minimum release fee in Ross' contract is already too stupid to be true, let alone a fee as low as £44m.

Utter horse sh**.

It may well be BS, but I question whether Mr Kenwright was the person holding the cards when it came down to contract negotiations. I think the person with most of the power would have been Barkley, or his agent in all likelihood.

There's no such thing as a "minimum release clause" - it's simply called a release clause. I know United payed more than Felli's clause, but that's because it had expired. If a player has a release clause, then NO club is gonna pay more than it whilst it is valid. A release clause makes a bidding war a non-starter, therefore the word minimum is redundant.
