I agree with Brenndan, to be honest. Selling Barkley for 40 or 50 million would go a long way to securing a new stadium, although that is something which seems a long way off at the moment, but I don't think Kenwright would hesitate in selling him if such an offer came in.
City do have FFP limitations, but I don't think it is far fetched to think they would spend it all on Barkley, and they are net spend limitations, so they can spend more than 50 million with the money they receive from player sales, and Toure and Nastasic might be on their way, and they would both be sold for a lot of money. City certainly aren't panicking about FFP.
The thing is though, I'm sure I read in the paper today that the next TV deal is likely to be far bigger than the most recent massive one. I'm sure it said that a televised game will see clubs receive 7 million pounds per game. That's probably 7 million split between two, but that's still massive. And it's why we need to keep the likes of Barkley (big names make us more attractive to TV companies) and it's why we need to continue investing in other big name players.
