All this burn out nonsense is rubbish. Messi played season after season of 50 games + then would be all over the place for Argentina and it didnt seem to effect him at all. Same with Ronaldo, he never needs a rest. Fatigue is just an excuse for lesser players. You're either fit or your not. We've seen this season that an extended break after the world cup and rotation has led to shiddy fitness and a load of injuries.

As much as I'd think it'd be great experience for them, the thing that worries me is that for Ross it'd be: First full season, world cup, (injury) second full season, Euro21s, full season, Euro 2016. That's a hell of a lot of football with no break, especially if we continue to play in Europe.
He was also away in the summer of 2013 for the U20 tournament in Turkey. Like England in the World cup we were knocked out in the first round but he still would have had a reduced summer break especially as we had that US preseason competition.

Nope, they are really not.

They are trying for cheap win snow, regardless of development.

......taking part in these tournaments is a plus, but taking part competitively is an even greater plus. The U16 win from the team captained by young Ledson will be of great value to those lads going forward. I stand by my view, however, that dropping down ALL the young players in the full squad will not necessarily convert to a tournament win. The balance has to be right.

Santa Domingo.
I would say that Messi really suffered in the World Cup from burnout after too many club games. I thought he looked jaded start to finish.

Of course Messi is also playing in a club side packed with the worlds best players. There are many games that Barcelona will win with or without him. I am not sure Everton have the same luxury with Barkley or Liverpool with Sterling.

From what i've seen of him Hughes is good player who will be a very good player. But I think Ward-Prowse shows a maturity way beyond his years - like Stones. If I had to pick a midfield it would probably include him over Hughes (i forgot in the post earlier!). But as a pairing i think they'd work well

Agree with this.

But that U17 tourny that was won.....they didn't drop the kids that got them to it in the finals....same group as the Quals.

Thats my point.

Probably, he is key though.

I'm not so sure mate, he loses possession a lot and runs down blind alleys fairly often. I think he's massively overrated, and not because he plays for the inbred freaks. He might come good and prove me wrong, but he's far from England's best player.

About 4/5 of that side had played for the 18s already and went up an age group straight after.

So it's exactly the opposite
