Call me naive, but I doubt money will be his biggest factor, at some point everybody wants to be a winner.

He's a winner, You can tell he's hungry for it, No doubt in my mind he would give everything to lift a cup with Everton but surely at some point he will want to play at the top level

He will leave one day IMO but let's be honest he's a 20 year old kid on 60k a week, add to that in about 2 years he'll be in line for a new deal and contract of about 80k a week you would imagine, what could you buy for 160k a week at Citeh that you couldn't afford at 80k a week at everton? For me money shouldn't be an excuse for the lad, by the time he retires at say 35+ he will be a multi millionaire and could set his family up for life.

Rooney has the medals and money but never looks happy, whereas as much as I despise slippery G who has not got a PL medal he will no doubt be the happier of the two players come the day they hang their boots up, hopefully barkley remembers that

Gerrard has won everything he can except the PL so of course he will be the happier of the two

Would Barkley retire happy if he played for Everton for 10 years, Won nothing and never played in the CL?

I was very surprised he played today and was in awe how well he played . can't think of many players in the past who've hit top form straight awau after a long term injury. Looks like hes bulked up as well. Villa players were bouncing off him when they tried to put in a challenge

You're being very naive if you don't think there's a huge difference between £80k a week and £160k a week pal, the difference is huge and there's no way him or his agent are going to let his contemporaries earn so much more money than he does just because he's a fan of the club he plays for.

There'll be a point soon were we pay him the going rate or someone else does.

To add context, Wayne Rooney currently earns roughly 300k a week, the highest player at Everton is on about 80k a week, you would have to be a proper boss fan to kiss goodbye to 220k a week like.

I would want to win things Bry, I would want to play in CL finals and challenge for league titles

Playing for Everton would be a dream come true obviously but lets say 4-5 years down the line and you have yet to play in the CL and are floating around 6-7th every year, Would you not want a move?
Of course i would. I love chicos love story tho. Double your wages and trophies every season. It's a lovely thought sitting at Everton and one I would love to share, it's not going to happen though is it?
