Ross Barkley

...the old adage about only being as good as your last game is so true in football. Barkley sprays some magic and we win next week and all will be well again. Let's hope so.
I don't think people are having a go at Ross, he had a poor game ,we move on ,but when people say he was our best player it causes banter.

He just needs to go on the field with the mindset he's the best on the pitch, which in my view he usually is.

What I'm seeing at the moment is a lack of confidence in being able to grab the game by the scruff. It'll come. Barkley is the closest thing there is to a sure fire performer we have.

I don't think we've been "found out" I think we've had a average start to the season but we've suffered from a lot of injuries to important players. Has it escaped your attention that yesterday was the first game in the league in about twenty when we didn't actually score, not bad for a team that's been "found out".

Also you seem to be contradicting yourself about Lukaku, one post you're saying he's not physical enough and then the next post your saying he made a difference when he came on.

How can he do that when he's being ushered out his best position to fit another player in? To have the confidence of being the main man he needs to see he's first on the team sheet same as Rom in that regard. Martinez has got this all wrong recently. Fergie did the same with Rooney Imo and it never worked it fitting RVP in, wasn't a coincidence Rooney was on top form under moyes ironically last season when he was put in his favoured position

Can see why Martinez sticking with Naismith as he been one of our best players but would rather have players in their correct positions, Barkley and Naismith should share the number 10 role.

The lad definitely had some swagger yesterday,

what !!!. god you like to read post's strangely. I said he was the most no:9 like player we have. Why are trying to start the lukaku stuff again. I was answering a post about ross being played wide, and yes if saying that lukaku is more physical than Barkley eto naisey and leon is contradicting myself then fine. Plus I have not mentioned in any post this weekend that lukaku made a difference when he came on, i said he nearly nicked one in the last 10 seconds. I think we have got to the stage where we disagree about everything, I have intestinally not quoted on your posts because this is going to run like a neighbours fence dispute. Please just ignore my posts however unintelligent and boring they may be.

Ross, at the very least can take it from the edge of our box to theirs, rather than play it around at the back. At the game yesterday i genuinely thought he didnt get stuck in as he has just returned from injury. Dont expect him to be bullying anyone physically, he will do that with his feet, but i think he is apprehensive in that he's only just come back.

The expression 'shoe-horning players' has been a bit over-used lately, but I believe RM has been doing exactly this a bit too much. Barkley starts ahead of Naismith...he is a much better footballer box to box.
