Ross Barkley

Moyes sees him day in day out, if he believes that Ross isn't ready yet then I trust that decision, wish other people would too. What needs remembering is that Ross has missed a lot of football and development when firstly he had a hernia and then broke his leg.

Moyes has said we will see him more at the latter stages of the season, I expect him to be involved at some point against Tamworth though.

This.

Moyes sees Neville day in day out and still plays him so what's your point ?

It's not about him "not being ready". He was motm against QPR. In the pre season games such as Villarreal (tough opposition) he stood out. When Cahill is playing pathetically week in week out, then why not give Barkley a go.

But I also trust Moyes to stick with a more defensively disciplined player over a livewire.

Did you ever consider that maybe he is ready for some game time, but Moyes is just electing to use players who can defend more adequately?

it is criminal that he hasn't even been given another go with the form Cahill, Neville, Osman and Hibbert have shown.

Leave Hibbo and Osman out of this, they've been good for us except for the times Moyes has decided to play Ossie on the wings.
I'm all for dropping Cahill and Neville, but even Neville has played DMF because of injuries and are you saying that you see barkley as a better makeshift DMF than Pip?

I hope we see more of Barkley in the latter part of the season.

Osman has been great in my eyes, even more so when played in a central role. Hibbert is a bloody Right Back, dont think Barkley would slot in there. He should have game time over Cahill, as much as it kills me to say it, because i love Timmy.

When he came on against united I personally thought he did okay, but the general reaction on here was 'Feel sorry for Ross, he tried his best today'. Then everyone kicks off when he's not played.

I want to see him more as much as anyone but I will go with moyes knows what he's doing. I think moyes wants to make sure were in a safe possition with the pressure off his young shoulders before more game time. From what Iv seen for his obvious talent tactically and positionally wise he's miles off yet!

He'll be our hero next year in hopefully a fresher looking team playing better football with more coincidence.

Fulham bought an 18 year old on yesterday while losing 1-0 at home. He looked good and they ended up winning.

Young players can be used and given some game time without it destroying their careers.

Barkley was used at the start of the season then pretty much dissapeared from first team action completly at a time when we really could of used a player of his style, even for 15 mins here and there, not being thrown in the deep end then frozen out.

One thing you can say about our team is they work hard all over the pitch (maybe Louis aside) and if we had the luxury of being able to carry a couple of players not as disciplined as the rest, then I am sure Ross would be in there. DM picks players who fit in with the team ethic and HIS gameplan, and thinks that Ross can't match this criteria at the moment.

Look at Royston, he has improved his defensive contribution in his last couple of games. RB's time will come (the sooner the better) and as soon as he is ready I'm sure Moyes will use him....I can't wait.

It's probably more to do with wanting to bring him on when we have a comfortable lead. If we're 2 nil up with subs to make, Barkley will play
