He did the same in the friendly before the WC. Ross was clearly the best player on the pitch and he came out and said he lost the ball too much, and that he could name 5 or 6 players that had played better than him. He doesn't seem to understand that the game is more than about not getting beat. You need players that will take risks to try and get goals. He is just a very average manager for very average players. Ross is wasted on him.
I do wish the lad would get stuck in a bit more though, he seems to have lost the ability to win the ball. Might be confidence thing with the injuries.

Time for Ross to step up now and prove he can dominate games from start to finish, I think he need's to be greedier and more direct. All the flash sideway's passes are nice don't get me wrong but it's time to throw away the shackles, Rooney and Owen are the only 2 player's I can think of that have been hyped up as much as Ross has been, they were miles ahead of him at the same stage of their careers. Might not be a popular thing to say but I think it's the truth.
Physically Ross has it all but he needs to develop mentally he seems to be affected by criticism a lot and doesn't quite play his natural game. Compare his attitude to Rooney when he first came through he demanded the ball from senior England players like Scholes and Gerrard where Ross seems to be a bit timid which leads to his mistakes. He may benefit from being with the U21's for a period where he can build up that confidence and become the player we all know he can be.

Barkley is world class in the making.
but he is like what, 20? what were you doing at 20? Could you run a company at that age? You cant expect Barkley to be running the show for club and country and not have a bad game or have steep learning curves to take. I'll judge him when he is 24-5 and been playing regularly for the team as to whether he is any good

It's a case of The Emperors new clothes with Ross. People see what they want to see. He's been overhyped and needs to work hard to justify his place in the Everton team, never mind England.
